Just back from POFQ

Hi all!

We just returned from our first trip to Disney and we stayed at POFQ.

After arriving, we tried to check in but somehow we were booked at the Riverside, thanks to an error made by our TA. (Even though our hotel vouchers said French Quarter on them)

We knew we absolutely wanted the FQ rather than Riverside due to the size differences between resorts, and the CM who checked us in got us a room upgrade to a water view

Now for some observations:
Noise - we could hear the sonic boom of the toilets flushing in the next room, and the room upstairs (we were on the 2nd floor) and (yuck) I could hear the people peeing in the upstairs bathroom!!!!

Mousekeeping - Hmm, really not up to standards. I would like to call or write a letter stating my concerns about this. It wasn;t a huge deal or anything, nor did it bother me too tremendously when we were there, but in retrospect for the cost of staying at this resort I would expect that the room be cleaned properly and I just want to call someone's attention to this.

Despite the minor annoyances, we had a fabulous time

I loved everything else about this resort - the size, the location, the theming.... I would do it again in a heartbeat - I'll just have to start saving my pennies again!!!!!

I think you might hear from a lot of people about issues with mousekeeping...
I know that I'm not the only one on this board who had issues with mousekeeping, but that didn't change my mind in terms of picking this resort.

The room just wasn't cleaned to my expectations for the price I paid - there was hair in the bathtub (my hair, so it didn't bother me too much), I could tell that the walls and bathroom floor hadn't been scrubbed in a long time, the mirror on the bathroom door was never cleaned the week we were there, and was dirty when we got there, and the tv was dusty.... little things to me, since my house is far from immaculate, but like I said - we've stayed in many types of hotels from budget to five-star, and the rooms at French Quarter were among the most poorly cleaned.

Hope this doesn't put you off - really, I would stay there again in a heartbeat. We saw a lot of the Riverside and while the grounds and theming are beautiful, it's just waaay too spread out for me. I can't imagine trekking that far to get my coffee in the morning!
