We just got back after five nights at POFQ. Overall, it's a gorgeous hotel!!!!!! The first night we got there, we didn't get in until 11 PM. They put us in bulding 7 which was waaaaay out at the end of the buildings and just too far of a walk for the kids. I had requested number 5 and the next morning I went down to the lobby and the man was sooo nice. He took the girls behind the counter to "help" him. Gave them coloring books, first time buttons, and another woman gave them each a tinkerbell pin. He then gave us Building 2 right on the river and it was beautiful!!!! I can't tell you enough how beautiful the grounds are.

The rooms themselves aren't anything to write home about but are fine. The grounds and the pool are what make this resort. The food was OK. Nothing too great but hey, it's a food court.

The pool was fabulous and the kids couldn't get enough of the dragon waterslide. They had life vests for the kids to use.

The busses were FABULOUS to and from the parks. Most of the time we walked right on and we never waited more than five minutes.

Overall a great hotel experience!!!! I highly reccommend it.

You were lucky they did that for you. I have a handicapped daughter and we were stuck in the far end of POR. I requested each day to move closer but was always told the resort is booked full and there was nothing that could be done. For that reason alone I hated POR and will never return. I'm going back to POFQ next year. We loved it last year and look forward to returning.

Thanks for the report.
Me, DSis and DNiece age 4 will be there Nov. 23/30. I requested building 4 but it sounds like none of the buildings are to far away from anything.
I've got my Christmas shopping list ready.

So you didn't like POR but your did like POFQ?

Hey - we just got back also! We stayed at POFQ the second half of a split stay (first half at CSR). We were renting a car for a few days so I was picked up at CSR at 6:30AM, picked up the car at the Car Care Center, packed up and went to POFQ at about 8:30AM and a room was ready. The CM was very nice and got us a room in building #5 not too far from the food court. It was a water view (actually a pool view and not the river but that was OK).

We didn't have to wait long for buses either but if it was not full and the bus made the whole trip around POR the trip got kind of long. We took the boat to DTD a couple times and the waits were not long there either.

Overall a very good stay.

Good question. What building should we request?

I would request numbers 2 or 5. I LOVED number 2!! It was so close to the pool and food but was also VERY quiet. We were on the river and the boat launch was right in front of our room. I was nervous we would hear that traffic and we NEVER did.

Have fun!!!!

Hey there, when I made our reservations for POFQ, I had requested a room close to the bus stop, because I was suffering from two herniated discs, and I wasn't sure how (or if any) much walking I could do. Luckily, by the time we got there, I was feeling much better. They stuck us in building 7! It was about as far away as we could get! I didn't ask to be moved. We were there, it was very peaceful, and I was just thankful that I wasn't in excrutiating pain! Bus service was so-so. Ferry "captain" very rude.

I have two herniated discs too, and I'm starting to stress because we are driving down from NE Ohio. I hope I can walk when I get there! I have my third shot series next week. I hope it takes care of it!

Looking forward to going with KSBelle and my little girl in Nov. Thanks for the report!

I have arthritis in my knees and I also asked for a room close to the bus stop and on the ground floor. We got 7313...building 7, third floor. I know they are requests and not guaranteed, but still, that was about as far away as it gets. So I feel your pain. Thank heavens there is an elevator. But that didn't help the hike from the bus stop to the room! We go back Friday and this time we are at POR. I once again requested to be close to a bus stop on the ground floor and I have my fingers crossed! And boy, I hope it cools down!
