Just back from POFQ

Here's another vote for POFQ. We just went in April and loved it. It was quaint, peaceful, and beautiful. Absolutely everything was to our satisfaction. We did have to call mousekeeping once to refill our toilet paper (duh!), but they brought it right away along with some extra so it was all good.

Welcome back and glad you had a great trip, its good to find other people who like POFQ

Hi, welcome back. Glad you liked it. We are staying there for the first time in September and requested bldg 4. How was the location??

The location was great. We were very close to the bus stop and to the main building. I would request 4 again in a heartbeat.

You will have a great time!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip! I was sad that we didn't book CBR (the moderate we usually stay at)- maybe I made a good choice.

We stayed at CBR in 1999 and we really liked it. POFQ topped it though because everything was so much closer. I didn't feel as isolated.

Beds need to be queen-size, mousekeeping was OK - a few things not to our satisfaction, but not severe, one nasty cm at the food court.

Overall though, our stay was awesome! The kids loved the pool, we did the hot tub our last night - boy was it HOT! We met some of the nicest people there - both cm's and guests. One day when they had to close the pool b/c of a thunderstorm, the lifeguards played board games with some kids at the pool bar and gave prizes to the winners.

We've previously stayed at the BWI and GF, and this is by far our favorite!

I agree about the bed size. 2 people in that little bed isn't very comfy! We have a king at home so it is a definite downgrade. I thought all the CM's were nice I ran into. They went out of their way to be nice to DD when she was pin trading. (This was the highlight of the trip for her!)

I am impressed that you liked it more than BWI and GF! I don't think I will ever be in the postion to try either one of those!

Sorry everyone about the multiple posts. I can't figure out how to quote different people in one post. :confused3

Did you take the boat to DTD at all? How was that?

We didn't do the boat. We actually went to DTD the day we got there while we were waiting for our room to be ready and we forgot about the boat. It occurred to us after we were already there and parked. Duh.:rolleyes1

We had a corner room during our first visit and I thought that all corner rooms were king rooms. Are there now corner rooms with double beds? I agree that the extra light made the room seem bigger and somehow nicer.

I didn't peek in the room. (I didn't want to be arrested while on vacation!:scared1: ) I would love to know if they are kings too. It is just my husband, my DD and I so we could do a king and make her a bed on the floor. That would probably be more comfortable for us.

Listen to me...planning on going back and I just left!

One thing I learned last time we were at Disney and we stayed at POR...don't just request a corner room. I did that and we got a corner room next to a noisy mechanical thing. (I don't know what it was...I just know it was loud!:headache: ) It didn't have double windows. I think you need to be specific that you want two windows. I chose not to specify this time because it was more important for us to be close to the action. I try not to request too much.

I'm sure there are people out there with more experience with this than I have but I just wanted to put in my two cents!

We will be staying at POFQ in December for 3 nights. We have always stayed at POR, POP, or ASMU, and wanted to try something different. Having stayed at POR before, we have sampled the pool and hot tub at POFQ, but we are looking forward to staying at the resort.

Three weeks from today will be our first stay at POFQ.:cool1:

I am now curious about the corner rooms. How far from the elevator are they? I also thought they were only the king rooms. Are the "35" rooms double beds?
Due to a medical eye issue, we always have a corner room (since 1988) and always with double beds - think there are plenty!!

The elevators at FQ are in the middle of the building, so if it is important to be near an elevator it would be wise to request that - our corner rooms have always been so far from the elevator we just use the stairs, even for the top floor :) There are corner rooms closer to the elevator - also, not every corner room has 2 windows, some "inside" corner rooms have one.

Have fun! :)
