Just returned from POFQ, and we loved it! This was our first time at the resort, after staying at (in order) Ft. Wilderness, Coronado, and ASMo. We were in building 4 (4211, on the corner near the stairwell), the closest building to the bus stop. Some comments:

- We used a discounted price from the email posting I received this summer and got a fantastic rate. I was a bit worried that the courtyard views wouldn't be as nice, but we had a wonderful location. I couldn't see the parking lots, only a beautifully landscaped courtyard.

-Loved the size of the resort, especially after Coronado Springs. For a moderate resort, we thought this room was a lot better also. The theming was both more classy and comfortable.

-We received adjoining rooms without any problem, and were delighted to have a free fridge in the room. Kept us from having to change ice everyday in a cooler.

-Loved the boat ride to DTD (although because of the cold front, they shut down service the night we were at Pleasure Island). Heard that the round houses along the shore are completely vacant, but they aren't sure whether to tear them down or not because it is now classified as a conservation area.

-The counter-service restaurant was good- not great, but good. Had a nice dinner there the last night before our flight, and a decent lunch there on our first day.

- Great pool! It was a bit chilly outside, but the water was warm and pleasant. I went swimming one night and had the pool to myself. It's really nice all lit up at night. The hot tub was a bit crowded with some college guys from UMass, but at least they were entertaining.

- Nice pathway and walk up to Riverside. We walked up one morning for breakfast at Boatwright's. Great x-mas decorations with white magnolias, a bit nicer than the ones at FQ, IMO.

- Excellent bus service, both to and from all destinations (except perhaps DTD, but I think this problem is resort-wide). The MK bus was exclusive to FQ and didn't go to Riverside. Stopping at Blizzard Beach before AK was a bit silly, considering it was around 45 degrees outside, but oh well.

Anyway, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this resort. Let me know if you have any questions. :D

Thanks for posting! The POFQ is my favorite Disney resort--I've never had a bad experience there.

We are staying at POR in March, so if you have any good tidbits to share about Riverside, let me know. We are hoping to get one of the mansions close to POFQ. I'm happy to hear the POFQ has its own bus since that means POR will too.

I know they sell beignets at POFQ. Do you know if they sell the chicory coffee a la Cafe Du Monde?

I'm glad you had a great trip!

Unfortunately, the coffee is Nescafe and not that great :guilty: But the beignets are good :D

Riverside looked beautiful too and I wouldn't hesitate booking there in the future, especially in the mansions. We loved the Boatwright's breakfast at Riverside- fantastic eggs benedict and great service!

The only bus that was separate between the resorts was the one to MK, I believe. But we never had any problems getting a seat (of course we were there during a slow period.)

Hey! We must have been right down the walkway from you. We were in room 4206. Were you guys the ones with the cute decorated windows?
We had a blast at POFQ, and would probably stay there again the next time.
I just got some photos back of the resort, and our neighbor has just booked a Spring 2005 trip at POFQ after hearing me rave about it.

Wow! I bet we passed each other in the hall! Yes, our mousekeeper did some cute things in the window. The best was hanging a "chicken" (made of towels" from one of the clothes hangers.

I loved building 4 and would request it again in a heartbeat! Glad you all had a good trip too. :D
