Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on our experience. Extra hours for the little ones was great! Lots of characters, walked right onto the rides. We've been before in September and agreed that we saw more characters this year than ever before at all of the parks. We were by the Star Tours gates in MGM during the character switch over (apparently this it the gate to the break area) and easily saw 15 at one time. Even though they were going on break, they stopped to say hi and play with our kids. Our kids saw so many that by the end of the week they were passing them up to go to the rides. My littlest easily wrote Barnstormers 3 times in a row without getting off. September just rocks!
We did get to go to MNSSHP and while it rained, they even had quite a few characters indoors if you went into the candy areas. I agree that they didn't give the adults much candy, but our kids loaded up and had full bags by the end of the night. We also noticed that there were not many CS and snack areas open. At 6:30 we noticed a few people wandering without arm bands, but by 7:00 I only saw orange armbands as far as the eye could see. Apparently, they didn't have too many problems getting everyone out of the park.
