We stayed Port Orleans FQ and opted out of mousekeeping. It was nice to not worry about a cleaning person coming in when we wanted to rest and they brought towels and emptied trash minutes after we called. A 50.00 gift card was also nice.

The ups of our trip included meals at Chefs de France, Skipper's Canteen, San Angel Inn, Tusker House and TRex. Great food and service at all of these restaurants! The candlelight processional at Epcot and the story tellers were also very good. The Frozen Ever After Dessert Party was also very good and provided a seat for Illuminations! Crowds were heavy but manageable. We did get to ride our favorite rides multiple times and saw the shows we wanted to see.

The downs of our trip were meals at Tony's in MK and Flame Tree BBQ in AK. The Christmas Party was sold out and more crowded than any other time at MK. The party is not worth the additional cost.

Tony's has the reputation of being pretty bad but I'm surprised to hear you had a bad time at Flame Tree. That's almost universally regarded as the best CS in AK (although Satuli is getting a lot of love recently). We had a similar experience with the Christmas Party a couple years back. Overcrowded and not worth the extra cost. Sounds like your ups made the trip a good time overall though. Congrats!
 
Glad you had fun, Tony's has always been a poor man's Olive Garden in my opinion and FQ is my families go to resort,
 

Is the mousekeeping opt out $15 per night?
 
I'm wondering if they have upped the number of party tickets this year. I went to MNSSHP this year and it was truly packed. I went two years ago and it was a lot of people, but didn't seem to have as many people. Both were sold out parties.
 
$10? Not sure that would be worth it for us. Hmmmm.

That's good to hear about San Angel Inn. The service was terrible for us on two separate trips a few years ago, so we stopped eating there.
 
10 bucks a night doesn't seem worth it to me :( that's too bad. Staying at POR in Jan.
 
My daughter and I just returned yesterday from a short weekend trip. We stayed at POFQ in building 7, third floor and we loved the resort as usual. So quiet, one bus stop and the boat to Disney Springs is always a treat. My only complaint is that I called the front desk and housekeeping when we arrived Friday night at 5:30 and no one answered. We also did not receive our Magical Express/check out info upon departure. We went to the MK on Saturday to meet friends and it was PACKED. We never leave the parks early but it was just not enjoyable for us so we left. We never do the MK on a Saturday but this was the only time our friends were able to meet us. We also felt the party Sunday night was extremely packed more so than last year's party. Although this was a quick trip for us, I did not feel the Disney magic that I am used to. I had very rude customer service at Uptown Jewelers on Sunday night and the line attendant at Peter Pan was like a drill sergeant. This was our third trip this year and it just seemed to lack in what I am use to. The staff seems drained. Long story short, I stopped in the jewelry store after the party Sunday to buy my 2nd Pandora bracelet and two new charms. The jewelry attendant was fantastic and tried two sizes on me to help me decide what was needed. After I left the store, I looked down and we had both forgotten to remove one of the bracelets from my wrist. I promptly returned to the store and it was locked for the night. I knocked and a gentleman mouthed to me that they were closed. I pointed to my bracelet and he yelled through the door "no returns". After I continued to knock, another manager came to the door where I returned the bracelet. He thanked me for my honestly but I still felt like I was doing something wrong knocking on the door for customer service.

Bummer. I might have just kept the bracelet after being turned away the first time. With all that Disney is saving from not properly training CMs & overbooking Christmas parties, it's not like they really need the money.

We had several of those drill sergeants on the last trip and it does kind of kill the mood. But I get the need for it sometimes and how exhausting the job can be. We were in Philarmagic and an international family sat down front and center and no matter how many times the CM repeated herself the family wouldn't move. It was like an entire theater was laughing at them for not following the rules when it was all over; I'm sure dealing with that all day can wear ya down some.

Yes! That is what she chanted constantly to the top of her lungs over and over! Totally took me out of the moment also.
