Hello fellow disers and I have to admit I am sad that our well planned disney vacation (7 months of planning and anticipation!) is over! We arrived Oct 21 and was able to check in to Alligator Bayou 1536 *bldg 15) not bldg 14 that I requested but we were able to check in at 1pm so I didn't mind. first check...NO BED BUGS!!! the room was clean and there was a towel animal waiting for us. As for the resort, it was exactly how I remember it from 2006 vacation. We tipped $5 daily, and we left surprises almost daily from towel animals, a barbie hammack, to my DD bunny watching disney channel when we would arrive back to our hotel. We reused our towels but I am sure they changed them out every couple of days. our sheets were changed every 4. I am very happy with our mousekeeper Rosa. On the last day we left a 10 dollar tip (and our 10 dollar double mickey balloon, haha) the food court was okay, cafeteria type food nothing to right home about. We bought the cups as usual.

Now for the parks, we never took advantage of EMH am or pm. I did not think the crowds were bad at all, I have never been in Oct so I have nothing to compare it to. Our longest wait time was less than 20 minutes for all attractions, most were 10 minutes or less. We rode Big Mountain Thunder Railroad 8 times (4 times in one day) Splash mountain 4 times with a wait of 5 minutes. haunted mansion less than 10 minutes, Tower of Terror less than 10 minutes. Really none of the ride lines were very long. Great time in all the parks.

We did Ohana's and Hollywood and vine. Ohanas was great, the food was very good and the service was wonderful. Our ressie was at 7:50 am so the early the better, when we were leaving the line was very long. so get there before 8 am is my suggestion. Hollywood and Vine was very good the service was great a fellow Michigander so that was neat. We had no problem getting our seats for Fantasmic which was great. Next time I don't think we will seat so close the spray of the water was kind of annoying on such a cool night (60). But all in all it was great. We averaged about 35 dollars for food for a party of 5 for lunch and dinner (not the special ressies of course)

MNSSHP was WONDERFUL!!!! We received and "award" for our costumes that was fun. the candy was given out in handfuls the kids loved it.

Well I have to get the laundry started if ya want to know anything else just ask! I hope those who will be going to disney have a magical time!:wizard:

Leia,
Glad your trip was enjoyable.
Congrats on getting an award for your costumes, do you have any pictures you can post to show us?

Hey Michigander, Wisconite here.
Part of our vacation, we are staying at POR, I was going to ask which area to stay in for the Alligator Bayou. At first we were going to stay in the Mansions, but we need the trundle bed. So area 14 huh,

How was bus service?

For some reason I am not "allowed" to post pictures? Our costumes were- DH Grumpy( who was mistaken for Santa about a hundred times LOL) I was Snow White, DstepS was Donald Duck, DS was Indiana Jones (We put our own Jones look together, it really was great!) and DD was Giselle.

As for the building in the Bayou, 14 is closest to the foodcourt and the South Depot. it was my first choice. Bldg 15 ya have to walk across the parking lot for a short cut.

Bus Service is fine...as long as you get there before 8:15. any later and you will be waiting. the longest wait was when we would arrive after 8:00am. It wasn't bad though if you expect to wait and have a little patience it is doable. I have no complaints at all about our vacation, it was magical!
