We stayed in a studio from the 22nd to the 28th of Aug. We were in room 3710. Horrible view but it was ready when we arrived and we chose to have a ready room so no complaints here.

Ok just to get the negative out of the way since there is much much much more positive. First off the bed frame design. Both of us must have bumped into the edge of it while walking by 5 times each in the seven days. It is just awkward sticking out the way it does and being as solid as it is it kills you if you bump into it.

The other thing is that the resort is extremely spread out and I know that it is shocking to hear this from an SSR owner but you need a car at that resort at least from where our room was. But that is it for the "negatives".

The positives are that the resort is immaculate. It is not even close to looking old. They have maintained it wonderfully. From some of the things I have read here I would have thought it would have had a more "used" look. So not the case. Secondly the pool area is beautiful. The slide is awesome and the bridge over it is really nice. I also love the bathroom, shower, dressing area. The cast members where amazing!!!!

The size of the bathroom was also a big plus!!! The beds were super comfortable. We also like the location super close to rt 4 and DTD. We were welcomed home constantly It is really a wonderful resort. Definitely a thumbs up.

Thanks for the trip report, 3DisneyNUTS! We'll be at OKW in 25 days and are really looking forward to it.

So how is the pool compared to the pool and slide at SSR. I really want to try OKW too. I am thinking of booking that next year.

We're also freshly back (today!) from 5 days at OKW...we were there 8/29-9/3 (this morning)...

I pretty much totally agree w/this assessment, except I didn't think the resort's size was any kind of problem...my studio was right across the parking lot from the Turtle Pond Village Pool (4325)...so a bit further than OP from the Hospitality House...I didn't find the walking distance a problem at all (we did not have a car)...I even walked my two suitcases (on wheels) to HH this morning (forgot to call Bell Services last night--my own fault completely...then this morning I just decided I needed the exercise)...it's about a 10-minute walk under "normal" circumstances; took 15 minutes lugging the suitcases this a.m. It was poisonously hot & humid this past week, tho, so the walk mid-day wasn't pleasant...we usually opted for the bus during the very hot hours...

Discovered the walking path from OKW to SSR and loved that walk...very very pleasant...and pretty quick, too...took less than 30 minutes...

In any event, I did love OKW and also found our villa to be in great shape...my family's studio (4315) which was directly below mine had an a/c leak, but maintenance was over to fix it within a few minutes of us reporting it...can't ask for better than that...

While I loved our time at OKW, I do prefer SSR ... the pools at OKW are lovely...but I like SSR's High Rock Springs pool better...but OKW's Village Pool is "better" than SSR's Congress Park quiet pool, especially for exercise swimming (early in the a.m.)...you can go further before you have to make a turn...

Bottom line: I love "my" SSR and BCV (have points at both, altho the bulk of our points are at SSR)...but also have loved vacations at BWV and OKW...still to try AKV and WLV...and somehow I suspect I'll love those, too! I just love Disney!!!

The SSR pool is better but it isn't fair to compare since the pools were built what 14 years apart. The slide is really fun at OKW although I do like SSR's better but from a kid's pov there will be no difference. I think the OKW slide is actually faster!!!! It is a lovely resort and you definitely felt the magic there. I am happy since so far we have stayed at 4 DVC resorts and loved all but one!!! I have a feeling that the next ones will all be wonderful!!!
