We have just returned from our 1st visit to the WL and all I can say is WOW!!!!!:Pinkbounc This place is amazing! I had read so many wonderful posts about the WL but you can not really appreciate the place until you stay there. We were there for 5 days and beleive it or not it was very relaxing. We did all of the parks, and it was so peaceful to come back to the lodge each day and just soak it all in. We were in room 6132 which is an end room and right across from the elevator and the ice machine which came in very handy! It was not very crowded at the lodge and the transportation was incredible! Never did we wait for a bus for more than 5 minutes, there were several times that we were the only ones on the bus! The parks were not crowded at all and we walked right on to every ride, we did not even have to take advantage of the FP. The weather was very nice, we got into a small thunderstorm at Epcot one evening but other than that it was just partly cloudy. I could go on and on about the WL but I won't. I know that we will be staying there again, I absolutely love this place!!

Welcome home. Reading your post has got me more excited than ever for our trip in December. Glad you enjoyed it so much.

I loved reading your post! We will have our first visit to WL in 4 days. I can hardly wait!! I've read so many great things, can't wait to experience it for myself! :Pinkbounc

WoW!!!!! Now that you've had a chance to catch your breath....

How was the pool? Hot tub? pool bar?

boat to MK?
restaurants???

We were in a standard room. It was very nice, we had the closed in balcony so you had to stand in order to see over but it gave us lots of privacy. The pools were great, we used both the main pool as well as the quiet pool. The temperature was just right and the hot tubs, oh my, the hot tubs! We were in these every night which was just the ticket to end each evening. We loved the boat ride to MK, which was never crowded. We also rode this over to the Poly one evening. We ate at the Whispering Canyon and that is a must for everyone, we had a blast! We did not get the chance to eat at Artist Point though.
I am already planning my next visit. My DH did not get to go this time, only me and my DD, 17. I told my DH that he would love the WL so looks like we may be going again in october taking advantage of the FTP.

isn't the WL just super!!!?? we LOVE it...we stayed here the first time in 2001 and went back in 2002 and still going back this coming october 12-18th...it's just a great resort!!!

Castlehappy,
I appreciate your post on WL as we are considering going there next prior to our May 2004 cruise. I want to be able to say we've stayed in all the resorts at some point.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. I plan to eat at whispering canyon. Did you try the all you can eat skillet ?

bkw86- we were in room 6132, it was a great room, like I said, very conveient to the elevator and even though the elevator was right outside of our door, we never heard any noise, and the ice machine was right there as well. We did not have a view of the castle or the fireworks though, but we did not mind. Our balcony view was of the the WLV and the quiet pool. No complaints. We really enjoyed the 6th floor, but next time I think we will go with the conceirge level.
magicmouse2- Yes we loved the Whispering Canyon. We did not have the skillet, but our food was awesome.

Just watched Wilderness Lodge on Travel Channel I had taped this morning. Can't wait to go.

So glad you had a wonderful time. We will be there in 3 days for our first stay there ever. I can't wait.

Kawalla9- We could not have asked for better transportation. The buses were never full, almost empty most trips. I think the most we ever waited for a bus was maybe 10 minutes, if that long. The boat ride to MK was very enjoyable and is a short ride. Coming back on the boat there was only me, my dd, and 2 other people. The parks were not crowded at all. This was our first time going in May but I am convinced it is a great time to go to WDW!
sm4987- I know you are looking forward to going, wish I was going again. Have a great time and enjoy the lodge!:D
