We are back from another memorable and BUSY trip to WDW!

We stayed from 7/5 to 7/12 at OKW in a 2BR...room #1314.

On recent trips we have been staying for 3-4 nights prior to WDW at a Universal Resort (For the front of line access), and then 6-7 nights at a Disney Resort. However, this trip we decided to stay at OKW for the entire trip and make day trips to Busch Gardens and Seaworld. (Thus the busy part of my initial line!)

We had a wonderful time as usual which included all of the Disney parks, Typhoon Lagoon, great dining, the premier of "Pirates of the Carribean" at DTD, and a variety of other special events and opportunities!

Any Questions?

How did you like doing it this way? Did you go to Universal and IOA also?

Our first ever DVC trip was in building 13 on the 3rd floor, so we'll always have a soft spot for the building. We spent quite a bit of time on the deck watching golfers shank drives onto the patios below us. It was a riot!

So my question is... Did you get any golf balls down on the 1st floor?

Hi Deep!

We really enjoy going to Universal first and then not having to leave WDW for the rest of our trip. (I don't like to leave the "Magic" once I get into Disney...with the exceptions of day trips like this time)

We stay at Hard Rock or Royal Pacific to gain "front of the line access" in the Studios and IOA when we go to Universal.

We did not go to Universal this time. My DW took the DDs during Spring Break this year so we didn't go this trip.

Hi Jimbo!

Funny you should ask....we got no golf balls on the patio...however, a few went into the pond outside the patio a dozen yards away from the tee! lol

We love building 13 because of the view and the proximity to the HH, bus stop and the Pool!

Was your room ready when you got there? Did it meet any of your "requests"?

We check in on Sunday but staying off site from Thursday until Sunday. Just wondering if I should wake up early to let them know we are here!!

Also, how was Typhoon Lagoon? Did you have to go early? WE have never been and the kids want to go this trip. I just want to make sure we don't get there too late and the park has reached capacity!

Thanks................

Hi Rosemary,

We usually arrive at our Disney Resort around 10:00 a.m. to have as good a chance as possible to get our request.

This time we arrived about 2:00 p.m. and got exactly what we requested. Ground Floor - Dedicated 2BR in building 13 or 14! It was ready for us immediately. We have always been fortunate to get most of our requests!

We really enjoy Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach...with TL being our favorite water park. We got there right at 9:00 when it opens. We were fortunate to get an umbrella, table, and chairs. We read, swim, eat, and generally relax so we really want an umbrella.

Within 30 minutes it was PACKED! I saw people arriving until about 11:00 so I assume that they were still letting people in, but I don't know if or where they had the opportunity to sit or lay down.

Let us know how you fare!?!?!?

Good Luck!
