We got home today from our first trip to OKW. I really understand why so many people love OKW so much. We had a 1BR 5421. It was very close to the bus stop for South Pointe and just across from the South Pointe quiet pool. The room was in good shape. I probably could have found some things to complain about if I tried, but we were just happy to be there and the overall maintenance of the room was fine. Bus service was fine to all the parks. We waited a while on Friday morning to get to MK, but we arrived at the stop at about 8:30, so I realize that's a busy time just before opening. South Pointe was apparently the first stop that morning that anyone got on the bus for MK and by the time we made our 2nd stop - it was already filled to capacity. That was the only time I noticed that while we were there. DH and 2 kids went to DHS that day and arrived for the bus a few minutes after one had pulled off. He said they probably had to wait 30 minutes or more, but then another DHS bus pulled up right behind the one they boarded. We checked in Sunday, Oct. 5th at about 11:30 a.m. We asked for either Turtle Pond or South Pointe and were given our choice of a few rooms in South Pointe which were already ready. We were thrilled to be in our room so early. Check-in was crowded at the time we arrived, and the check-in area was very noisy to me. I was glad to get out of there in a short time. I did stop back by a little later to get directions to Super Walmart and it wasn't near as crowded and was much quieter.
Youngest DS (8) really enjoyed Community Hall. He thought it was pretty cool not to have to pay for all the activities. The main pool was nice and we enjoyed it 3 afternoons. I think whenever we have our first NO PARK trip, this is where I want to stay. It was relaxing, but not too remote. So far, I've never met a DVC resort that I didn't love!
