just back from Kidani Village

from a park, where does it go? Do you have to go to Jambo for it? Or, will it be in the little gift shop at Kidani?

TIA!

If I remember the form correctly from our trip last November to SSR, you specify Kidani or Jambo.

I did offer to answer questions but everbody here has done a great job of answering! I can just add that I really think we had one of the best rooms in the resort in terms of savannah view and location to everything! I think someone asked if I participated in any activites-there was storytelling at the firepit on certain nights, there was a pool party every afternoon and lots of crafts and activities in the community hall. Also, we ate at Sanaa for dinner-it was excellent and Boma is one of our must dos for breakfast.
Back to work for me-wish I was there right now.

allicat,
Thanks for your feedback. We have totally fallen n love with Kidani. On our next two trips we will be staying at Boardwalk and Jambo (had an opportunity to get a value studio), but our hearts will be in Kidani and I'm sure we'll get over there for lunch at Sanaa or just a quiet visit. No, we don't think we're missing anything by not being in Jambo (only the hustle and bustle and impersonal atmosphere of a bigger hotel).

Yes, I was wondering what happened to you, Allicat, LOL.

Thanks for all the good info. We are leaving in 5 days and can hardly wait!!!

I have to say that I did not like Kidani village (sorry)....My mother in law has difficulty walking long distances and while it was easy to catch a bus to get to Mambo House....we had to wait 30 minutes to get a bus that got us back to Kidani. There was almost no food selection at Kidani so if you were at the room for any meals you had to go to Mambo House and if you did eat at the pool at Kidani village they gave you much less food for your Disney Dining Plan than did Mambo House. When I questioned it, they said "Walk to Mambo House and get your food there." I never want to go back to Kidani. Disney is wonderful but this place was terrible for us.

Oh, that sounds bad. Did they tell you to go to Mambo in a snarky, "I don't care about your concerns" way? It doesn't sound like they were giving you a helpful tip, but I don't know. If they were snarky, and I had to deal with a long walk with members of my party who were at both ends of the age spectrum, I'd be annoyed with Kidani too. I hope you get a survey and write about the lack of food service at Kidani. At least that might help future guests.

We are hoping to have a different experience, of course. We already rented a car and all members of our party have no problems walking at a good pace. I will miss the food, but plan on stocking our villa with some groceries. I have heard bus service at Kidani is great and I have also heard it wasn't good. Friends went in January, stayed in a studio and will never return. Bad bus service was one of the reasons they gave for not returning.

Is it supposed to be "Jambo"? I really have no idea, only ate at Sanaa.

walkdmc: I hope your Kidani experience is all positive! We will be at Kidani with slow walkers...but I think if we know ahead, it should be fine. I'm usually so happy to be somewhere warm and at Disney that I enjoy everything...unlike when I am at work :rotfl: I hope you will report back to this thread about transportation (walk and bus) times from Kidani to Jambo House...or maybe post a link to your trip report...if any.

Have a great time!:)

We are at Kidani now and have been for the last seven days. We have really enjoyed our visit here. My family has not had any bad experiences with the castmembers or service here. The food, I will say, is just okay, however, the food at Jambo house has been great. The breakfast and dinner buffet at Boma was excellent. I hope that everyone has the experience we have had here. We leave tomorrow afternoon and will truly miss Kidani.

we stayed in a 2 br sv in october for 9 nights. it is a very nice resort however i did not like how you have no CS options (the pool bar menu is very limited) with kids it just was not convienant walking to jambo house. the pool area was very nice! parking was great. cast members friendly. another thing i did not like was how dark everything was. yes, i know that is part of the ambience of the resort. i prefer the bright and sunny cheeful colors at the beach club and boardwalk. This would not be our first choice in the future, but by no means was it awful. We had a great stay! just not our cup of tea!
