The Resort was wonderful. The Beach house pool is being redone but the "Big Dipper" pool was opened and dispite the cool temp. the kids swam for hours (pool is heated). The kids also did a few of the childrens activies and had a wonderful time. The CM were great! We ate luch one day at the pool (Tide me Over) and it was much better then I expected. I was hoping that the Daytona 500 would be on in Muggies Den, but it was being used for some different activies. We would have like to watch the race with other NASCAR Fans! Such a sad {SOB} ending to the race!We ate dinner at a few local resturants, Old Oyster Factory(10% discount for DVC members), and Outbacks. We are going back in March and plan on doing a dolphin cruise.
The BEST PART was meeting some fellow DIS members. I had arranged to meet Natsmom, who lives in HH after meeting on the cruise board. She and her family have just returned from the cruise and I had the chance to pick her brain about the cruise. Then, quite by accident I started talking to another guest who turned out to be we3luvdisney ! Small world! I love these boards!! :D

Hilton Head sounds like alot of fun! Someday we plan on going at the same time my sister is at her timeshare that is located further down the road.

It's very sad about Dale Earnhardt. God Bless him and his family.

May I ask how old your kids are? What type of activities do they have for kids at Hilton Head? Thanks!

Hi, my kids are 7 and 8. They had activies such as "cooking class" where all the kids made mini Gingerbread houses, also a T-shirt printing project where the kids painted a dead fish! I know sounds gross! Then printed it onto a t-shirt. They had a blast. Also there was a "kids night out" where the kids were given a pizza party, then taken to the movies. I am not sure where the movie was as my 2 did not wish to do this activity. On another trip we played Goofy Bingo, which was fun. They have different things on different days. You get a schedule when you check in.Have a great time when you go!

My Nascar fan hubbie likes to watch the races at the tv at the beach house. He usually gets a few fellow fans joining him or a few fans that peak in regularly for his race updates.

HELLO RELLINGTWIN

MY FAMILY AND I ARE GOING TO HILTON HEAD THE 1ST WEEK OF MARCH. YOU MENTIONED THE OYSTER FACTORY GAVE DVC MEMBERS A 10% DISC. ARE THERE ANY OTHER RESTAURANTS THAT HONOR THE DVC CARD AND IF SO, HOW DO I FIND OUT? THANKS SO MUCH

Lynda, we had hoped to watch the race on the big screen at the Beach House but it was closed due to the pool being worked on. Jackie, ask for a list of resturants when you check in. One time they gave it to me without asking, the 2nd time I had to ask. Also there is a Resturant Guide that lists about 100 resturants and also has many menus. There are even ones that will deliver to the resort! Have a great time! We will be going again March 9-12
