Hi everyone. Just back from one week at DVC HH.

IT was wonderful!

Lets see whats new...

New couches in all the units. New TV units in the two bedrooms. (Learn this from the members coffee open house). Know the couches were new. Not very comfortable but better for wet clothes. Not that we let our kids but I'm sure there is some that do.

Major mix up with our room keys. We added on a night paying cash and the Cast member in training really did something wrong. We had no working key for a day and a half. At 10:00 at night a worker who didn't speak english showed up at the door with 15 keys!! Handed them to my husband and started to leave. Well, of course none of them worked! And off he went. They did fix the problem the next afternoon! Everyone was very nice about it. Other than that everything was perfect!

They are still working on the merchantile building by the hot tub.

The weather was great - only one day of rain. But the ocean was cold! Too cold even for the kids. Only went in for about 20 minutes with their belly boards. Great weather for bike riding!

My husband went golfing and the kids did a lot of the programs. They even did kids night out. My husband and I went to Scotty's by ourselves and truly enjoyed the dinner without the kids!

Any questions....feel free!!!

Only 76 more days till our next DVC vacation at OKW!!!!

Sounds like you had a good time.

I agree about the comfort of the new couches. I bet you could pour paint on the cushins and they would wipe up with a sponge and still look new.

Was the work on the Mercantile to replace the sign on the top? They had started that nearly a month ago.

Fenceman, no the work wasn't on the sign. That must have been completed. I really have no idea what work is happening except there is a huge hole dug next to the hot tub under the decking of the building. Never saw anyone working on it...just a big hole!

Thanks for the info! We will be there for 6 days in June! We can't wait.

How old are your children? Ours are 11 and 12...did you take notice to the activities for that age group?

Thanks!
Karen

We will be there in June......stayed there last year. Do you have any tips or hints?

Can you give me some golf information - like does disney provide discounts at nearby courses? how far in advance did you make tee-time reservations? thanks

Here is the information on the golf options that I copied out of the member guidebook. I hope it is helpful!

The Hilton Head Island Golf Option is made available by DVD (through arrangements with the respective third party golf course
owners/operators) as a courtesy to DVC Members and/or their Guests staying at the Hilton Head Island Resort if they wish to participate.
The Hilton Head Island Golf Option allows DVC Members and/or their Guests staying at the Hilton Head Island Resort to purchase
rounds of golf at the courses listed below which are located on or near Hilton Head Island. Certain courses require that vouchers (the
“Vouchers”) be purchased in advance by calling the Hilton Head Island Resort Guest Services Department at 1-800-981-6304 or 843-
341-4000 or at check-in. For each round of golf played, a Voucher, if applicable, must be redeemed at the golf course pro shop for which
the Voucher was purchased before beginning play. To purchase a round of golf at the prices listed below call the Hilton Head Island
Resort Guest Services Department. DVC Members must present valid DVC Member or DVC Resort identification at the golf course’s pro
shop before beginning play. The prices listed below include greens fees, golf carts and a 6% South Carolina State Tax (unless otherwise
indicated) for one round of golf during regular business hours. Rental of golf clubs or other items is not included. All other charges
remain the sole responsibility of the DVC Members and/or their Guests. A valid credit card and guaranteed Hilton Head Island Resort
reservation are required to reserve a tee time. The prices quoted below are for 18 holes of golf unless otherwise indicated. Most of the

Regarding golf....always check the local papers for specials. When we were there Palamatto Dunes courses were running special rates all week. The rates were about 20 bucks cheaper than the Disney rates. The Disney rates are good, but check around first. If you use Disney rates, they will set up your tee times for you. We called the day before and never had a problem.

My kids are 5,7, and 11. There is so much for them to do. The pools are so much fun and the beach is great. Biking, rollar blading...razors . And June is beautiful. Not tips or hints other than have a relaxing time. Check out Harbour Town if you have small kids when the singer is there. The kids will love it. Disney did have this time a kids night out ages 5 to 12 (I think 12). They had pizza and then went out to the movies.

Everyone going have a great time!!!
