It was super nice. We loved it. We won a 2br on skyauction for $282 for the week. Check in was a breeze.

We took the kids to the childrens pool. It was warm and big, but not huge. Also there was a whirlpool thingy there too. We never saw the "BIG" pool.

There were lots of activities going on at the resort if you wish to participate. We were never bothered with any timeshare offers.

About the restaurant....I don't even know if there was one. We never used it if there was. Sorry I can't help with that.

This was our first trip to WDW, so I can't compare it to other resorts. We loved it. With 3 kids, it was huge. Especially after staying in a regular hotel room on the way down! ;) The living room had a big screen tv, and each br had a tv. No fighting with the kids about what to watch. We had a jacuzzi in our br and a nice king size bed. The kids room had a half kitchen, sleeper sofa, full size bed and their own bathroom. As you can tell, we were really happy. DH was impressed with the price too! :)

Hope this helps!

Hi ! We are just starting to plan our next trip to WDW. It may sound like silly question , but what is HGVC? and what is skyauction?? sounds like something we could be interested in ..
Thanks for any info !! ;-)

HGVC is Hilton Grand Vacation Club. It's a nice timeshare resort. Skyauction.com...you can bid for rooms, air, etc. Lots of people have used it on the boards. Check it out...it was a great deal!

Thanks for the info! Sounds like something we need to check out .
One question though... how far ( by car) is this from WDW??
Thanks again!

Leslie

This is what we would love to do for later this year--when you bid on skyauction, did it say that it was for HGVC or did you have to open the auction and see what locations it was offering? Just curious. Thanks-

Steve, we stayed there a year ago. It is a nice place. There is one pool that is by it self with a children's pool. It is behind the units that are further away from the main section. The main section has two large pools. One heated, one not heated with a waterfall. There is also a children's pool here as well. The food was pretty good at the HGVC but a little pricy. They have a "special" food every night which is slightly cheaper. Three cool things you have to check out if you visit, the $1 Sundae special every day at the main pool, the movie theather with free movies, and the croquet court. Lots of fun.

We will be staying at the HGVC from 4/12 - 4/19. We have two girls 11 and 12. I would like to hook up with other families when we are there. Also do you know if they have a promo where you get free tickets for listening to the Timeshare Deal? You can email me at terifain@aol.com
Thanks, Teri

With Skyauction you know what you are bidding on when you bid. It tells you the resort. Sometimes it is pretty open on dates and other times it tells you the dates available. I did Westgate Lakes several years ago on Skyauction and never got hit up for the timeshare sale.

We stayed there in October. The 'Big' pool is very nice. Two big pools with one waterfall. Then kiddie pool. There is a nother pool like a 'hotel' type pool, but nice in the middle. Has a deli (nice to pick up snacks etc), and a restaurant (outside take out servicw). Food was good. Every day they have planned activitoes our 4 and 2 year old did a 'hula' contest, and they had ice cream socials, and crafting. Seems like they did this around noon. Movies for adults, and adult activities in evenings - some bus trips to places There was a trolly/bus that came to the front but we never took it so not sure where it went.

Rooms were awsome, large and nice screened in patio. We had a two bedroom and the jacuzzi was big enough that the whole family took one after a day of swimming (all in our bathing suits natch)! Kids to this day think that that was funny!

For anyone staying there, I do have one recommendation - try to get near a building near the 'big' pool. That is where the restaurant/bar is, and activities. We stayed at the buiding the farthest away from the pool and even though they have a golf cart to take you near the pool.. it was a pain lugging all our stuff down to the big pool. Also, we'll be picking up groceries at local store vs. theirs. We ran out of diapers and had to buy them there and they were expensive.

We're staying there again 3/26 and asked to be closer to the pool.
