Just back from our stay at GF from Augs27th-Sept10th....We had a great stay despite the storm...we had a huggge corner room in Boca Chica. Room 8345 that looked out over the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon. Had 2 full size balconies. You could hear all shows going on in the park and the fireworks from the room were amazing...you could hear the music like you were there.
On that sunday eve after the storm was almost past we were speaking with a CM as we waited for a covered golf cart to escort us from Boca Chica to the Lobby and she said that the resort was half full and the other half are cast members.
I must say if you have to be anywhere in a Hurrican Disney is the place to be.They were so helpful and considerate.always kept us informed via phone and letters under the doors...Provided us with flash lights and free of charge refridgerators and coffee makers. Meals provided in each lodge building...Huggge deli sandwiches for $1. or $5 and you could fill a box with what ever you wanted that was there. 1900 Park Fare offered a character dinner for $18 per adult...we saw Sleeping Beauty,Cinderella/Prince,The 2 Mice,Goffy,Minnie,&Fairy Godmother..and the food was good.
Characters in the lobby where Mickey,Goffy,Donald,Genie,& Pooh. Only damage at the GF was a big tree down outside Sugar Loaf, which was removed very quickly..I was amazed that those thin palm trees outside our room stayed up and that big tree fell down..not even the palms fell off the tree.
