Got back last night. Stayed in Big Pine, room 9218 for one night and 9332 the other 6. We switched after the first night because we had some bugs in our drawers and could hear the elevator far too well. We were much happier in 9332 - moving down away from the elevator. Also, we found that there are bad garden views at the GF. 9218 overlooked the Big Pine entry covering and the back of the quiet pool building. There wasn't much to look at.
Overall the GF is still great. A few other things we noticed...
Check in was surprisingly fast. The past couple years we have had a wait to see a CM and then the check in process with the CM seemed like it took 10 minutes. This time we walked right up and were done in a couple of minutes. We arrived around 5:00.
They had the holiday desk staffed.
The front desk seemed to be well staffed throughout the day - no lines waiting to see a CM.
They've changed the kids tvs in the lobby from Disney movies to Toon Disney.
The tree is still an awesome sight. It isn't as big or as nice looking as the old one. But it is still big. What we most didn't care for on the new tree is the yellow lights. The white lights on the old tree were more impressive. Also, the rest of the xmas decorations and trees have white lights.
I think we might be marking the second week of December off as a slow time. Things weren't crazily packed (except for a couple of days). But it felt too busy for what it used to be at the beginning of December. We used to do the 1st week of Dec, but switched to the 2nd week thinking that maybe the 1st week was busy with Thanksgiving leftovers. But I think it might just be that the secret about early Dec is out.
Any questions, just ask.
