Just back from six nights at the GF. My self, hubby, and 9 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter. We had a gret time. We stayed in Boca Chica Room 8301, great view of the lagoon, castle and space mountain, the water pagent and the fireworks at MK. Mousekeeping was great, except that we didn't get any towel animals. We also had the free dining package, which was incredible!!! I don't think I would ever go to Disney without getting it again, great value!!! If anyone has any specific questions, let me know.

Glad you had a great trip. We were in 8325 Boca Chica last week. Our Lagoon view was mainly of enormous trees. I wonder if you have pictures of your view. We were hoping for a more expansive lagoon view than what we got. Just curious to see what the view is like without the trees.

Were you on one of the ends of the building?

Did you like GF? Will you stay again? What didn't you like? Are there a lot of children there (DH and I don't have kids yet)? Is it a good resort for kids (for when we have them)? Was the staff friendly and helpful? Since GF is the most expensive, is it worth it?

DH and I want to stay here. We've stayed at all moderates and done all deluxes except GF and BC.

Thanks for any info. Sorry for so many questions. :)

Glad you loved the Grand Floridian! It's our favorite deluxe onsite! My son always has a great time there--his first trip was when he was just under two and now he's six. He can't wait to go back! He did the pirate cruise at 3 and doesn't remember it, and wants to try it again. Bet it will be a whole new experience for him at this age.

We've never gotten towel animals at GF--we just got back (just now--we were at the Grand Californian for Labor Day Weekend) and we didn't get any towel animals there at GC either--but it doesn't matter to us either way..I think the only times we've gotten towel animals was in Beach Club concierge and Wilderness Lodge concierge---and the Disney Cruise! We got them nightly when we were at sea.

So glad the service was good on your trip..it always has been for us, too, and we are looking forward to our next stay there in January! :Pinkbounc

Hi All, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.. School started today and its just a little crazy. Anyway, alohaguy, they did orginally give us a room in Conch Key, told me it was a great marina view. When we got to the room, there was a giant tree in front of the balcony and I had them switch us to Boca Chica. Sorry I don't have pix back yet, but it was a great view. Have to admit, silly as it sounds, for the amount of time we spent in the room, which was very little, I prefer the view of the quiet pool.
Ufgator, as to your questions about wheter I would stay here again, probably not. This was our second time at the GF, two years in a row, and I think next time I would like to try the Beach Club. For the convience of Epcot, the Boardwalk at night, MGM, and Stormalong Bay. Don't get me wrong the GF is absolutely beautiful, has large comfortable rooms, and its very peaceful. I just think I would like a change. Yes, the kids love it, they have a ball. As for the staff, no they were not very helpful or friendly this time around. I found the entire staff, bellman, ck in staff and housekeeping, to be much more friendlier last year. Hope this helps.

Argh. The trees are a huge problem at the GF, IMO. Two years in a row I've paid extra for the lagoon view and two years in a row I had an obstructed view (big trees... one year big DEAD trees)! :( One time I was even told that there would be no trees as I was on a top floor... no such luck.
From now on, I'm going to request a building other than Big Pine Key (doesn't even face the MK) and NO TREES!!
