Well we just got back from DD's surprise birthday trip and it was great. We were supposed to be at the GF from 9/22 - 9/29 but after two nights at GF we were home sick for the Poly and switched on Saturday night
.
Please don't flame me as this is just my opinion but we did not like the Grand Floridian at all. It was nice enough but it is supposed to be Disney's signature resort and I definately did not feel like I was getting my money's worth. First of all we were put in a dormer room which was very small, mousekeeping had forgotten to clean the toilet and there were splatters all over the seat
, there was only one elevator working in the building (sago cay) and so whether going up or down you were in for at least a 5 minute wait, and to top it all off our room was extraordinarily close to a loading dock with trucks coming in and out all day and all night. I also felt that the resort was very bright and not at all relaxing. So after two nights we decided we would all be much happier at the Poly.
Saturday night we went to dinner at O'hana and decided to let them know we would be back, to stay, LOL!! So after dinner we went back to GF and checked out and then got checked in to the Poly and we were lucky enough to get a newly remodled room in Fiji
(this is my new favorite building). We were in room number 3305 which had a great veiw of the monorail passing by, the beach, the GF, and of course the gorgeous landscaping. I know a lot of people have had issues with the noise from luau cove but we actually really enjoyed it and it was over by about 9:30 each evening. I am happy to answer any questions about the Poly, the new room, or the GF. I hope to be adding some pics of the new room shortly.
