and it cannot compare in any way, shape, or form, to Universal/IOA!!
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE who describe US/IOA as an overblown Six Flags??
We went to La Ronde, the Six Flags park in Montreal. Although it has some very good rides, it was not on par with Paramount Canada's Wonderland in Toronto, and should not be even uttered in the same breath as US! Cost wise, it was in the same ballbark as US/IOA/WDW for a one day ticket (we bought their version of an express pass which was $13 for 6 rides; but not all rides in the park accept the pass!)
The rides, in an of themselves, were fine. They have some amazing roller coasters (Vampire, Goliath) but the lines were outrageous and the employees had, how shall I put this... a distinct lack of any sense of purpose. Just because 200 people waiting in line is no reason to actually pick up the pace and stop chatting with your co-worker. The food was ridiculously expensive, and really, really bad. As for cleanliness, well, we're not in Florida anymore, Toto!
I had been wanting to try a Six Flags park for some time, and this is the first park of any type I have visited since our 2 trips to WDW/US/IOA in 2003 & 2005. I understand that you really cannot compare those parks with Six Flags. I really hope that those firstimers to US/IOA will no longer be scared away by those who have never been there, saying it is like Six Flags! Having now experienced Six Flags, I can tell you that it is an entirely different experience. I now understand why WDW charges so much for their tickets, and the US/IOA 5 day for the price of 2 deal is an amazing value for what you get!
