and it cannot compare in any way, shape, or form, to Universal/IOA!!

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE who describe US/IOA as an overblown Six Flags??

We went to La Ronde, the Six Flags park in Montreal. Although it has some very good rides, it was not on par with Paramount Canada's Wonderland in Toronto, and should not be even uttered in the same breath as US! Cost wise, it was in the same ballbark as US/IOA/WDW for a one day ticket (we bought their version of an express pass which was $13 for 6 rides; but not all rides in the park accept the pass!)

The rides, in an of themselves, were fine. They have some amazing roller coasters (Vampire, Goliath) but the lines were outrageous and the employees had, how shall I put this... a distinct lack of any sense of purpose. Just because 200 people waiting in line is no reason to actually pick up the pace and stop chatting with your co-worker. The food was ridiculously expensive, and really, really bad. As for cleanliness, well, we're not in Florida anymore, Toto!

I had been wanting to try a Six Flags park for some time, and this is the first park of any type I have visited since our 2 trips to WDW/US/IOA in 2003 & 2005. I understand that you really cannot compare those parks with Six Flags. I really hope that those firstimers to US/IOA will no longer be scared away by those who have never been there, saying it is like Six Flags! Having now experienced Six Flags, I can tell you that it is an entirely different experience. I now understand why WDW charges so much for their tickets, and the US/IOA 5 day for the price of 2 deal is an amazing value for what you get!

The six flags over texas near Dallas is a really good park, but I agree with you 6 flags cannot compare with the greatest park in the world US and IOA. Its worth going too. Don't think I would go there INSTEAD of US and IOA but if you have a lot of time and cash to kill and are like me just love going to any and every park out there 6 flags in Dallas is a good pick, they have some mega coasters there The Titan and Mr. Freeze. 6-Flags are more coaster parks, not a lot of theme-ing, they are what they are, but nothing can compare to US IOA and the Disney parks. That's why they are the best.

The people who compare have actually never been to USF/IOA, they are only assuming. Pricing at the Six Flags parks is generally quite high for a one day admission, however their season passes are quite cheap. You can get a family season's pass for $200.00 and that pass is good for all Six Flags parks. Next week, we will pick up our four passes at Darien Lake for $200.00 and then use the pass at Great Adventure, New England, Great Escape and La Ronde (all in ten days). That is great value!

The season is so much shorter at most Six Flags parks as well. They usually have less than half the time to make money compared to Disney/USF.

Just back from Six Flags Great Adventure, which is in New Jersey. The park was nice, but a few of the rides were not open early in the morning. The wife and kids got tired, and wanted to leave after a few hours. It's a real bummer because the parks up north don't open until 10am, and then the newest ride (Kingda Ka and El Toro) don't start until 11am. Kingda Ka didn't open until we were leaving at 1pm. I came back later that night and got my ride after waiting 2 hours.

I love IOA because the park usually opens at 08:30am, and the rides in Marvel Island are all up and running.

I was on it last year, it's amazing! The way it takes off is quite a rush. I was back at SFGA last month and Ka was down all day, :confused3 major bummer. El Toro was great as well, you should ride that also.
