Through these boards, I was lucky to learn about DVC point rental and we rented points for a 4-night stay at the Boardwalk Villas in a 2 bedroom villa. We had 4 adults. We could not have been more pleased with our set-up. We had a 4th floor room right over the quiet pool. The 2- bdrm. villa is very spacious and nicely decorated. Washer dryer was great and they provided detergent. There is a hottub in the master bathroom - wonderful! We also had 3 balconies - one off of each bedroom and the living room, with a great view of the Tower of Terror and the Swan/Dolphin and the Boardwalk quiet pool. It was a great stay, we would definitely return. We don't have the $$ to invest in DVC right now (trying to pay off school loans!) so we will probably look into renting points again for our next trip. Now that I have stayed in a villa, I think it is the ONLY way to go when you have more than 2 adults. We had total privacy in each room / 2 bathrooms etc.

If you have any questions, feel free to post or email me (at jenninlaca@hotmail.com).

Here is where we ate for sit-down meals:
Spoodles (breakfast)
Teppanyaki grill in Japan (dinner)
Fulton's Crab House (dinner)
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
Bongos (downtown disney) (dinner)
Big River Brewing Company (dinner)

We went to all four parks (only briefly at AK), Blizzard Beach, and Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando.

Wow, Jenn!

I've only stayed in a 1bedrm BWV, and I was totally in awe of that!

Glad you had a wonderful time!

Those villas are sure hard to beat!

uh oh! now you're spoiled ! once you've stayed in a 1br or larger villa, it's hard to go back to a regular room. as far as dvc goes, you may want to check out the faq on the dvc board on this site. we originally turned down the idea of dvc in 93 due to the higher minimum point buy in and our financial situation, but we sure put a lot of money into regular resort rooms between then and when we finally bought at bwv.

I could have written the same post you did! :) Except ours was a 2 bedroom at OKW. ;) I doubt we'll ever stay in a regular resort again... we are spoiled from now on!

I'm so excited! - I just rented points for a 1-bedroom BWV !! DS (13)and I were booked at AKL for the week, then older kids (22) decided to join us for the first 4 days. At first I rented a second room at AKL since 4 adults in a reg room did not sound very comfortable (well, that and they all complain that I snore - fresh kids!) - then I read on the Dis about the DVC villas and realized that a one bedroom might be the perfect solution for us and that an Epcot resort would also make it much easier for us to do more those first 4 days and still get back to the room for a nap and swim each day- not to mention that my younger son loved wandering around the boardwalk 2 years ago when we first stayed there. Since we'll be at WDW last week of Aug when the parks close early, that will be a big plus to the kids. Mid week, after dropping big kids off at airport, DS and I will check into AKL for final 4 days of our trip - we're dying to see it and will be ready to slow down our pace by then. So now I can rethink my touring plans and make some new PSs with the $100 a night I'm saving! - Also only need to pack 5 days worth of clothes, since I can easily do laundry before we leave BWV !!:D

We are DVC owners and our home resort is the BWV. Yes... after staying in a 1 bedroom for a week, it is hard to stay in a regular hotel room. We went to Disneyland in March and stayed at the Grand California. The hotel was stunning, but even at that hotel, we missed the room and convenience of a larger unit.
The 2 bedroom is perfect when we go with another couple. Each couple has their own room and the livingroom/kitchen is the common area. I found I could not afford to stay where I wanted to stay in WDW, that was why we bought in. I found for the extra points, the 1 bedroom is much better than the studio. I bring 3 days worth of clothes and do a load of laundry at night. Lots of room in the suitcase for stuff to buy!!
