For using the scooter in the rain, I carry clear, cheap showercaps with me. Theyusually fit nicely over the ignition and steering...keeps everything dry. I also wear a rain poncho. I drape the poncho around me and the scooter so it mostly stays dry. Remember, if the skies look threatening and you are heading into an attraction or rest., leave your poncho covering the seat. Saves on wet butts! As for night time....most scooters have stupid little things they call "lights". Never have I had one that actually lite up anything. Since I manage to have people run into me in broad daylight, DH or DS will walk next to me at night so I don't get plowed into. Although, getting plowed into really doesn't hurt me or the scooter, but people seem to be really ticked about it.
