Spent our Thanksgiving in a lovely 1 BR at DVC at HHI. DH golfed at Country Club at HH and the Ocean Course (where, ironically, there's hardly a view of the Ocean). We ate at Signe's, British Open Pub, Salty Dog, Piggly Wiggly (yes, we had Thanksgiving Dinner from Piggly Wiggly!), Captain's Seafood, and Pino Gelato. Hey-I had to compare the gelato with BC Marketplace! As soon as I saw the bright green pistachio gelato, instead of the "authentic" beige color at BC Marketplace, I figured BC Marketplace wasn't going to be challenged as the best. And I was right. But I haven't met a gelato I didn't like-just if you're going, the hazelnut is a much better tasting flavor. And thanks so much to disneyaholic for the meet at the Beach House. Even DH, who's idea of vacation is usually limited to golfing and watching ESPN, volunteered how enjoyable it was. I just hope it's warmer next year!
The one who was "disneyed out" now wants to head to WDW, while the other one is all about the ocean. I think mom will win and choose HH.
I love Big Murggie's den.
It is so cozy and warm feeling. The pool table is nice and they have Christmas music playing. We've had a nice time here. We went on the Dolphin tour yesterday. While we were getting our reservation taken care of guess who made an appearance? None other than shadow herself.
She's was great and very friendly. Once she came out everyone flocked to see her. It was great seeing the dolphins swimming and getting their dinner. B'lou (sp?) Crabbe was great with his ghost stories last night in the "den". Rich was great at the rental booth when we got the dolphin tour. Unfortunately, the boat wouldn't start yesterday morning so our 10AM tour was moved to 3PM. No problem. Also, I would lke to give kudos to Anthony. When we left the rental booth to go on the dolhin tou. DW left her room key there. We got back to the room right at closing time for the rental booth. CM Anthony was nice enough to bring her room key to the room on his way home. Thanks Anthony. Believe it or not, it is acts like that which make Disney trips magical. We're going to the Beach House this morning
and maybe back to Savannah for the afternoon. We plan on being at the campfire tonight to "wrap it up". Then the 6-8 hour drive back to Montgomery tomorrow.
We can look back on this trip until April when we go "home" to Boardwalk for the first time.
