Just back from Dolphin

Hi all.
Just back from 7 days at the Dolphin & had a wonderful time thanks to these boards!!! I booked a std room using nurse disc. but upgraded to resort view w/balcony using SPG pts. about 3 days before we left. I e-mailed requesting a comp. upgrade about a week before & got the usual canned e-mail response. I watched my ressie on the SPG site to see if I was upgraded but no upgrade appeared. Finally I called SPG to upgrade using pts & was told that due to the many conventions booked for last weekend, there were no CL avail but was able to get balcony using pts. We had room 6025- renovated room w/view of Epcot fireworks and boardwalk. It was beautiful. Room was clean & bright. Did not see/hear any renovations going on so I don't know how far they've gotten. The location of the Dolphin simply cannot be beat. We ended up at Epcot every night for Illum. as the parks closed a bit early this time of year and it was such a joy to walk back to the hotel along the boardwalk & not have to fight the crowds running for the buses. Thank you again for all the wonderful advice- I could not have done it without you all!

I agree that the Dolphin can't be beat for the renovated rooms and especially the LOCATION!!!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your Dolphin experiences with us. I'm so glad you had a great time and enjoyed the Dolphin. We will be staying at the Dolphin for the second time in June (also with the nurse discount) and we can't wait!

I'm glad you had such a good time. I really wanted to stay at Dolphin this trip but the in-laws weren't interested and chose AKL. I really look forward to staying there one day - especially with a teacher's discount!

Thanks for the great review! I'll be at the Swan in a week with the nurse's discount also. I booked resort view with balcony. Can't wait!

Divamomto3, we will be there the same time as yall also with the nurses rate. My question is how much was it with the nurses discount for the view you requested? I just booked the std view, wondering if I should try to change it. I am getting a little nervous now that it is getting so close Thanks
