Just back from DLP

i think mine is pretty cheap so that will make up for the balticness!! (I like to make up words!)

so far Im £242 for flights and davy crocketts tickets etc ( taking my parents so we have split costs 50/50!! another £125 for hire car so I think it will be worth it even if I have to buy a big disney fleece

I guess it is just a risk you take by going in the winter, some winters are quite mild and others like this one ARE NOT.

We went to Disneyland California in January one year and the place was dead, it was cold enough to have to wear a jumper in the mornings but warmed up to T-shirt or long sleeve T-shirt by lunch time. But I bet plenty of people don't go in the Jan because of the cold !!!

Thanks for the heads up, as it prompted me to go and find a coat for myself (you know there isn't a lot of choice in maternity coats.)

We had some of those hand things somewhere so I better find those as well.

It is luck of the drawer during the Winter, we've had several March trips all around the 12th March, on our first trip in 2004 it was bitterly cold and snowing and we were buying extra clothes there, compare that to last year when we were walking around in tshirts and hoodys for the early/late parts of the day.
We got a really good deal with the free dining and free kids and despite the horror stories of the cold, I've just realised where poppyolivia lives and now I'm scared I am going to be really disappointed if we can't get there and have to postpone.

Zeebs.....buy a mens coat and get a million layers underneath!!!haha!

Jill.....flights are getting on ok here ...well edinburgh etc...you will be fine, seriously it can only get warmer now, it can't be long til the big thaw surely???...on the way down to Edinburgh it took us two and a half hours to go 6 miles!!!..from the forth road bridge onwards was like glass.....cars were skidding everywhere and they closed the north bound road!..I think it was a day or 2 before all roads to the Highlands were closed!!!.....take it as it comes..you WILL get there...you might freak out (I did big styleeee haha) getting there but you WILL

watch this you will go and it will be warm as anything and you would have packed for the north pole!!!!

Glad you had a great time, despite the weather. Our last of 3 Christmas trips was 2005 when Boxing Day was so cold we hardly did anything except find places to stay warm. We vowed then never to do a winter trip again. Since then we've done a couple of early Hallowen season trips and apart from better weather we much prefer the resort at Halloween - Halloweenland itself is a deal breaker but there's so much more besides.

It was nice seeing you around the place, we didn't find the weather too bad compared to last year but the last day (Friday 8th) we went to the Stunt Show for Josh and he was OK with his ski pants on but we didn't defrost until we were back at the resort.

I can't believe you didn't find it too bad...I must be a major wimp! When we saw you and you said we should go on the buzz ride, we were just off the frozen dumbos and I thought I would need some kinda skin graft on my legs!...it was burning so much I wanted to stand up on the ride just so they would stop it and get me off!!!!
Yeah the 8th we actually saw you get off the shuttle bus but by the time we got the pushchair off you were gone And I'm too shy to shout!

Did you wear mega layers or some fabby brand of ski wear?

my typical day of clothes was

thermal leggings, jeans (some days salopettes)

thermal long sleeved top, tshirt, hoody, artic fleece and ski jacket

2 pairs of gloves

2 or 3 pairs of thermal socks

one pair of pants...maybe I should have wore more of those granny style ones!!

maybe I'm ill and don't know it yet?

yeah we were sunday to friday!

The tempreture has risen so it is not so cold now we came back today and had lovely dry days (we were there for 5 days) and lovely sunshine on thursday - the nights were quite cold but with all the tips from here we were able to stay nice and warm! Will put on a trip report when I recover!
