I cant believe I just did it, we went to DL in California and then to DW in Florida...it was a DREAM COME TRUE!
It was our first ever trip to DL, and we are serious WDW vets, and I was so excited to see DL. I was prepared to not like it as much because of what you hear all the time....its so small, etc.....but I LOVED IT!!!! It was so incredibly wonderful I miss it so much! I have to admit the MK in california is better. And I LOOOOOOOVE the MK in WDW.

I have to thank everyone here for helping me plan my first trip out to Cali, I cant wait to go back again! We did so much, saw all of LA and Hollywood, tours of celebrity homes, went to the filming of the Megan Mullally show, Universal City, Beverly Hills....but the highlight of everything was Disneyland. We did the welcome to Disneyland tour and were the ONLY people on the tour so we had our own private tour.

I cant wait to go back to Disneyland, we decided to make it like every third trip to break it up ;)

After Cali we went to Florida and had a magical time as always in WDW. And now Im home and very sad....guess I gotta start planning another trip!! :teeth:

Thanks again everybody!!
Hugs and kisses

Isin't it a blessing to be able to do both parks (so to speak) in the same year? We went to WDW (me, DH, and DS7) in June stayed 14 nights at All star movies and splurged like crazy. We did a private Remember dreams come true cruise and had steak dinners delivered to our boat from private dining. We did a fireworks dinner show in Cinderellas castle, and we ate at some big beautiful places throughout all the parks. Now we are preparing a last minute unplanned trip for 3 days to disneyland we leave Oct. 8 - 10. This is the second time we were able to be fortunate enough to make this happen. Last time we did this was in 2003. Congrats on both your trips. Good luck planning the next one.

We have done DL and WDW in the same year several times. We've done both coasts the same month December 04, 05 and will again in 06! LOVE IT! Absolutely the most magical way to spend the holiday season.

Glad you enjoyed DL---put it in your "vacation rotation"!!! :thumbsup2

I was so glad to hear you like dl. I am heading there for the first time in Jan. Like you I am a DW vet. Any pointers you can send my way I would appreciate it. Is there an min. age for the tour?. I will be going with my dd2 and my ds3.

Hi Crossfamily

There is no minimum age for the Welcome to DL tour as there is no backstage stuff, and I do recommend it, we got to pick up FP's along the way and they gave us extra FP's at the end of the tour. You go on some rides with the tour guide which is cool, and its fun and informative. As far as pointers, basically the same as WDW. Get there early! HAve a plan of action, make your PS for meals before you leave home...the Blue Bayou is good and goofys kitchen was my favorite! Lines are never as long as they appear to be...DL was designed to have very short indoor ques, so even if the line is all the way out the building for peter pan, its still just a 15 minute wait. Indy and SM are different though, they have long indoor lines...these are good FP attractions. California adventure is a lot of fun, dont overlook that park its really good too. If REmember....Dreams come true is showing when you visit, please see it, its very good! Oh also, dont assume becuase your rode something at WDW that you dont have to ride it there, they were all different...and most I liked more at DL. Have fun!!!!

We did WDW in January and will be going back in Nov. We did DL for the first time in June and returned in Sept. I agree, DL is so much better than MK. Fantasyland is great for little kids at DL and Toon Town is way better at DL.

We thought California Adventure was also really neat. I hope they decide to build a California DVC out there.

We did this last year too.....what fun!!! We went to DL for the weekend mid October and then 3 days later flew to WDW.
It was awesome to compare the parks. We found things we liked better at each park and debated with other guests about which rides were better and why.
We had such a good time.....unfortunately we couldn't do that this year, but plans are already underway to do it again in 2007. :cool1:

In 2005 we did all things Disney in the continental US. WDW, DL, DCL Magic and DCL Wonder. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: WOW, how can I ever top that. Ditto to the comments about loving DL Magic Kingdom more than WDW. DL's Pirates of the Caribbean is soooooooo much better than WDW. pirate:

Hi Poconos! I'm so glad you had so much fun at DL...we could hardly contain ourselves on the boat knowing that your hubby was surprising you w/the DL part of the trip! Say hi to the kids from mine!
