Yeah, I am going crazy. I borrowed one of my mom's zoom lenses (nothing special, just the cheapo Canon 70-300) and I've been waking up early to practice with it before I go. I have a trip to the zoo planned for the weekend to prep for the AK. This will be my first trip after getting into photography so it should be fun!

Anxious to see your pics. Always so much fun to hear about trips and see pics. I'm on my way to WDW at the moment. Hopefully I can start my shooting frenzy soon. Only regret so far is no tripod. Just couldn't fit it in the bags..errrr.Still need a sherpa to schlepp for me when I get there even without the tripod.

Bah, I was posting photos when I was actually THERE, on site. Just dialed in with the laptop (free local calls, at least for DVCers) and left it connected for days at a time.

But processed photos... that took me a few weeks! And 8 months later, I haven't finished re-processing them yet... I doubt they'll be done by the time I'm going through DL photos.

I will not be able to upload anything while I am there because my Comcast ISP does not offer any dialup service for when you are away from home. I might end up paying for one day of service from the hotel, but at $9.99 a day it hardly seems worth it for as little as we will be using it.

Don't some of the hotel lobbies have free wifi? I thought Boardwalk did and I thought I remembered the podcast crew saying that somewhere at Fort Wilderness did also.

I don't think any of the hotels have free internet anywhere... what I have heard on the DVC boards is that sometimes, someone who's paying for high-speed internet will hook a wireless router with no encryption up to it, so anyone nearby can piggyback onto it.

Unfortunately, nobody was doing that when I was there in January, at least no one in range.

I am here and got online, but no pics to share. For some reason the Pentax RAW processing software is crashing this laptop. Oh well. My parents are here right now and have to get the internet for work, so I benefit for the night.

It is HOT here!!! I don't know how I can live farther south, but still feel hotter here??? All in all things are going well. The DW has not been feeling that great, but seems to be feling better tonight. We are not trying to rush around too much anyway when we can visit fairly often.

I will go into more details later.

You're used to Cape Coral but Orlando feels hot? That's weird!

The last trip where we were in both places (Thanksgiving 2003), we were having lunch in Cape Coral and it was really hot, that evening we were watching Fantasmic wearing winter jackets and shivering! I figured that after living in CC for a while, your blood would thin away to almost nothing so you didn't feel heat any more.
