We are just back (12/17-12/26) from WDW were we stayed at Cypress Pointe resort. We loved it!!! We had a two bedroom condo (8307A) and it was gorgeous, clean, quiet and well equiped. The only glitch was that somehow the heat had been turned off (which we didn't figure out until day 2 because we were cold and couldn't get it to warm up) but I called the front desk and it was sorted out within the hour. We got two calls iniviting us to the welcome breakfast and offering us $150 to attend but we declined and they were very nice about it. As suggested we did not pick up the welcome package at checkin so I do not know about that. We had no problems with our keys, although at the checkin desk one couple had come back from there room saying their key did not work. I requested a third floor end unit in a quiet location and that's exactly what we got. My kids swam in the pool twice but other than that we did not really explore the resort offerings. I think the pool was heated, but it did not feel particularly warm to me (so I didn't swim) but it didn't stop the kids, lots of people were swimming and using the hot tub. I really loved the location of the resort. We shopped twice at the Winn Dixie around the corner and up a couple of blocks and we were at the Walgreens across the street pretty much everyday to pick up something we needed. We went to the parks everyday by cutting through Down Town Disney. I had read that this can get pretty congested but we were ususally out so early that it wasn't an issue. I really can't say enough about how beautiful and big our condo was. I was prepared for something average and this was light years beyond that. Granted, we do not stay at deluxe resorts so I do don't know how it would compare to something like that, but CP way exceeded my expectations. It had to have been a recently remodeled unit because everything seemed very new with no apparent wear and tear (except one broken tile in the entryway). We had no problem with the master bedroom layout (the jacuzzi tub being exposed to the rest of the room). My kids loved the tub! The only thing I would let people know is that if your going to be there for a week you will definitely need to pick up more toilet paper and laundry detergent, and maybe dishwasher detergent and garbage bags. Their little "starter pack" just won't get you through a week. It wasn't a big deal though because walgreens was so convient to stop at. This was our first trip to WDW, our girls are 3 and 6, and it was really the trip of a lifetime. I think a big part of how good we feel about all our experiences in Orlando was having a really nice place to go back to and chill out when we needed some down time. DISCLAIMER - Take this post with a grain of salt. This was one persons experience with one condo unit. I didn't see inside any other units so I have no idea of the condition of any of them except 8307A. That being said, I'm happy to answer any questions about our time there. Much thanks to the Dis Boards, my research here is what led us to pick Cypress Pointe.

Cypress Pointe has undergone a 100% unit renovation from January 2004 - March 2005. Every unit was gutted, painted, new carpeting installed then "refilled" with all new appliances, entertainment features and furnishings. It is litterally better than new. You didn't get a special unit but one of 168 exactly alike.

For 2006 there will be more improvements. The buildings are all getting new roofs, there will be a new maintenance and laundry building constructed and the lobby is being redone. Later in the year a new (Starbucks?) Coffee Shop & Gift shop are expected to open. As of 1/1/06 Cypress Pointe is again recoginized as an RCI Gold Crown resort.

We were there over Thanksgiving and found all of this out from the Manager. He is very excited about all the improvements and seems to have much more up his sleeve. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay as we did also.

Hi. I recently bought a timeshare at Cyoress Pointe grandvillas. We have never been there but had friends who love it. Can you please tell me how it is driving to and from the parks(from Cypress Pointe). Thank You!

Thanks for posting, it is one of our favorite places to stay for the price/location/value.

We cut through downtown disney every day on our way too and from the parks. Since we were out and about so early it was never crowded. Sometimes in the evenings it got a little congested but we just enjoyed it more than taking the highway.

We stayed there from 12/17 - 12/21 and absolutely loved!! What a great place to stay. I do have a question for anyone who knows what the difference in the bathrooms are (privacy wise) between the regular villas and the grandvilla's? We were prepared from reading on these boards to the open bathrooms, but wondered if the Grand Villa's bathrooms are different? The only blemish in our entire unit was 2 scorch marks on the countertops next to the stove from someone putting pots directly off the stove onto the counter. Such a shame since we knew that all units just went through a major renovation and the units do come with pot holders supplied. We always try to treat places that we stay at like we do our own home. Guess that's not true with everyone. Highly, highly recommend staying there for anyone who is on the fence.

pk1959 - master baths in a 2 bedroom on the GV side have a private room with the toilet and shower. The sink/vanity area and whirlpool tub are open to the bedroom. I hope that makes sense!! :) We've loved our stays at CP and CPGV.

I think I get what you are saying. Are the CPGV's set up the same way as the CP side? While we were at CP, we had a total of 3 bedrooms, and both of the master bathrooms had a non-private toilet layout. If you just rent a 2 bedroom, it's 1 larger master bedroom and 1 small bedroom with a small bathroom off the hallway? We are thinking of going back with another couple and want to make sure that we rent whatever it takes to have the 2 big bedrooms and bathrooms, so I know on the CP side, you need to rent both the 2 bedroom unit PLUS the lockout , but we are unsure if it is the same on the GV side. Thanks for your help and now I hope that I didn't confuse you!!!! :sunny: We are just looking to get 2 big bedrooms/bathrooms and we want both bathrooms to have a private room with the toilet at least.

Glad you liked it too!
Cypress Pointe is a great deal. I was there Dec. 2-7. I had it for a week and hated checking out 2 days early. :(
We had a three bedroom but only used two. We kept referring to the third as the servants quarters. ;)

I have stayed at Old Key West in Disney. The units at Cypress Pointe are very comparable. The only big difference is location and scenery. OKW is open, gorgeous and green, Cypress Pointe is more or less parking lot and road. Since we paid less than one night at OKW for an entire week at CP, we didn't mind the parking lot view one bit. :)

I will agree with you about Walgreens. I found some great stuff in that store and it was so convenient.

I'm always confused....
The 2 bedroom at CPGV has master bedroom with bath (toilet/shower behind a door) and the vanity/whirlpool open - all in the master bedroom area. The 2nd bedroom is two twin beds and there is a 2nd bath off the hallway (tub/shower). I have not seen the 1 bedrooms at all - don't know how the layout is.
Good luck
Have we confused each other more???? :goodvibes

Try this link - you can find the layouts - looks like the 1 bed has the same bedroom/bathroom setup.

Checked out the link you sent and it does look like both master bathrooms have privacy. Thanks for the information. Now we should both get on with making plans to go back!!

We stayed there in July and loved it. We got a great deal on a three bedroom on Hotel Kingdom. There were seven of us, and we had plenty of room. We didn't mind the drive at all.
