I have been trying to post this for quite some time and having trouble, let's try again...

Hello! We just returned Monday from a 7 day stay at Coronado Springs. We had my DH, DS4 and DD almost 1 in a standard view room. We were in Ranchos 7B room 7694. I'll tell you as much as I can, and if you have any questions, just ask!
First, we loved the hotel. We thought the theming was great, the grounds were beautiful, the staff was very friendly (except for one person, but that's a pretty good track record!). We rented a full sized crib, but did not feel to crowded in the room. One thing that helped was that we completely unpacked and put the suitcases under the bed. We had a corner room with two windows, so I enjoyed that a lot. Our view was of some of the grounds area and was very pretty.
I know some people complain about the Ranchos being too far away from the main areas, but we enjoyed it. My husband thought this section was more attractive than the casitas or the cabanas. We aren't people who exercise a lot or anything, but the walk did not seem that long and did not bother us.
Buses - we were supposed to use bus stop #4 according to the map, but it was almost the same distance to #3 so we used that one since it had an earlier pickup and therefore it was easier to get a good seat. The only times the buses were crowded were on the EMH day for MK and the few times we seemed to get in a little later than 7 pm. The mornings were just fine. Most times it was only a couple of families on the bus. We rarely had to wait at all for a bus to come. One time, a bus was too crowded so we decided to wait for the next one. The driver said it would be 10 minutes and the next one came in 4.
Pepper Market - Not our cup of tea this time around. With two little kids, it was too hard to go get your food, wait in line to order, to be served, etc. What happened was my DH had to go get food for me, my son and himself and it took way too long. Even buffets are easier on us since you can get all your food right away and then sit down. At this place, each station had a line and then you also had to wait for your food to be prepared.
Mousekeeping - they did a great job! We weren't the neatest around with a baby and a 4 year old - we generated a lot of trash! We tried to tidy up before we left in the mornings, but it was hard and they did a good job of making things look nice and neat when we got back. We did leave tips every day. We got towel animals the first day along with stickers, and some other decorative touches that made the place look nice. I don't know if they only do it one time per family or what, but since my son refused to let us touch any of it :rotfl: they did not do anything else like that while we were there.
Check in - We checked in on a Tues around 11:00 and were given a room right away. Bell services were great about helping us to our room even with our huge crib box, mattress and sheets that were delivered! They teased us and asked us if we were sure we were only staying awhile and not moving in...We did the express checkout and they were very prompt about arriving on time (4:40 am!!!) to help us get our luggage to our airport transportation on our departure date.
Pools - the big pool was great, but a little crowded. Due to rain and crowds, we only went there once and spent the rest of the time at our quiet pool. There were four ducks that seemed to live there and my son got quite a kick out of that!
Noise - every day we came back for a nap and never had any problems with noises. One time a kid ran down the hall a little too loud and that was about it. The kids upstairs did stomp a lot, but then again, I spent the entire time telling mine to stop doing that, so it was probably a good payback!
The only small issues we had were we requested a pack n play to keep DD's toys in and maybe give her a play area that was not her sleep area and we never received it. Also, our fridge was not working well on day 1 and we requested maintenance to come check it out and they never did. My DH fixed the fridge, so we never pursued it.
One bonus that they did for us - we had tons of packages delivered to the gift shop that we purchased during the time we were there. On our last day, some of the packages were pretty badly damaged, but we were leaving the next morning! Someone from the gift shop went out and exchanged the items for us from Downtown Disney and MGM and had them ready for us that evening. That was much appreciated! But, in the future, we will think twice about using that delivery service on certain items.
Sorry this is so long, hope it helps if you are thinking of staying there!

Wow - I am SO excited to see your review. We are heading there in a few months and I can't wait. Did you try the restaurants (probably not with a baby.) What section of Ranchos where you in? Did you request it?

Thanks and welcome home!!!

We were in 7B of the Ranchos, and no we did not request it. Actually, we told them we would take whatever we could get so we could get a room ASAP. We did not want to have to wait until the check in time since it was so close to her nap and she still hadn't had lunch yet! We were on the 2nd floor, but there was an elevator, so that made it a lot easier.
The only restaurant at CSR that we went to was the Pepper Market, but we also took the baby to Liberty Tree Tavern, Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Coral Reef, Cinderella's Royal Table, O'Hana's and LeCellier. I'll do some dining reviews when I get a chance. She did all right in the restaurants, but was in a wierd mood about not wanting to sit in her high chair. So we ended up having to hold her a lot and that was a big pain.

Great review. Thanks for sharing! Glad you enjoyed your stay. Welsome back!!

I feel the same way about Ranchos. When I read the descriptions of the areas before I went I thought I'd like Casitas the best - but once we were actually there I fell in love with Ranchos. The landscaping in the whole resort is just beautiful - my favorite so far. We even liked the Pepper Market! - but my DD is grown so I understand why any food court would be a problem.

This will be our first stay in CSR and we are looking forward to it. Just 13 days away.

Texan Mouseketeer - Thanks for the great report! We have been considering CSR and have been reading the reviews everyone is posting. One thing that came up a couple of times was the fact that CSR is a convention resort. Did you run into any big conventions while you were there? Does the fact that it is a convention resort diminsh the Magic at all for regular Disney guests?

Glad you had a great time!

There were some conventions going on. We saw some people in business casual dress, people carrying briefcases, and one morning a ton of people in the same colored polo shirts all filing in to the convention center. For me personally, I never understood why this bothered other people staying here, but that is just my opinion. It didn't bother me a bit that everyone wasn't in t-shirts and shorts. I also grew up with my dad, a travelling salesman, who took me and my mom with us on a lot of his trips - there were people in suits everywhere and yet it was still a vacation for me! So, our family did not mind at all. We even talked to a few of them and my son talked to a lot of them! And anyone else who would listen... :earboy2:

Thanks for the great report! I"m wondering how we'll do with the Pepper Market but I think we're kinda stuck eating there for dinner this time around so we'll make the best of it.

We're actually going for a convention being held at the CSR - but is a convention of children with type 1 diabetes and their families (2000 of us I think!). I think we all get matching t-shirts but we'll probably otherwise look like regular ole park guests. I noticed a lot of convention goers at the CR when we were there last month - sometimes sitting at the pool in their suits with a laptop, etc. I just felt sorry for them :earboy2:

Can't wait!

We just got back from CSR too! Absolutely, positively CSR is the best moderate resort...it was awesome! FYI, if anyone is requesting the cabana section. We stayed in cabana 8A, room 8100, standard view and it was a perfect location! It was a first floor, corner room, overlooking the woods. A few steps to the right was bus stop #4 and a few steps to the left was the dig site pool! And just a short walk from the Pepper Market.

We have just decided to chage our ressie's from Pop Century to CSR and I have a few questions. I know at other mods you can request a corner room with two windows. Can you do this at CSR? Also is any section better than another? It will be me (22) and my DH (23). Thanks for your help.

Cabana 8a is about 5 to 7 mins walk to the convention center or you can use the new internal shuttle system
