We were at CSR from May 22 - 28. Our favorite is CBR, but this was comparable. (I still like CBR a bit better.)

We were in Casitas room 1180. THAT IS A GREAT ROOM!!!!

It is only seconds from the Pepper Market and bus stop 1. But it is a LONG HAUL to the pool. There is a quiet pool that is a bit closer, but it was still a long walk to that too.

The kiddie pool at the Dig Site is NOT heated and it is not even a "pool" compared to the ones at CBR and ASMU. It is about an inch deep with a fountain spraying out very cold water in the middle. I usually sit in the kiddie pool with my son, but I just couldn't do it and it was in the upper 80's, but it was COLD!!!! For those of you who were wondering, the fish statue that was in the kiddie pool is gone never to return.

The hot tub is huge and great! Loved it!

The main pool in nice. It was heated, but the shallow end was only 3 foot 4 inches. This is ok for me, but my DS is too short for that, so we ended up letting him play in the hot tub with us.

We used room service twice. The food was average. They do not have a large pizza to order like they do at ASMU or CBR. It isa 9inch very small pizza and we were a bit disappointed with that.

We ate at the Pepper Market twice. The food I had there was very good. I took Buzz's advice and ate the wet burrito. It is HUGE! And it was very good! My DH had pasta that was average and my DS had the hotdog. The second time I had the taco salad and again, it was HUGE and very good.

It is a bit confusing to eat at the Pepper Market the first time. If I hadn't have read on the DIS boards how to do it, I would have been very lost. I saw a couple next to us who didn't understand how to do it. (They hostess tried to explain, but like many places at WDW, she was spanish with a very heavy accent so it was hard to understand her.)

We ate at the Maya Grill for our anniversary. It was Delicious! I had the special which was halibut and these wonderful garlic mashed potatoes with other buttery, steamed veggies. Dh had the double pork chops which were not dry at all. The were dripping with juice. The bread is great too.

Check in and check out went very smoothly. I had cast members who were earning their ears both time, but they did a great job. I requested a late check out on the last day and they let me have the room until 1pm at no charge.

The bus service was fantastic. The best I have ever experienced at WDW. The only wait over 5 minutes was at MK on the night of the parade and fireworks - which is to be expected.

I want to confirm that there is no bus directly to the Boardwalk anymore.

There were many conventioneers there as we saw them walking around in their business attire and name tags, but they never bothered us and used their own busses.

That's about all I can think of. Let me know if you have any questions!

Angie

Welcome Back! Glad you enjoyed your stay at CSR! DH and I were there in December and we thought it was great! Sorry that your vacation is over, but now I'm that much closer to mine!

Welcome back Angie. Glad you had a good trip. You have to give the cabanas a try if you every return. I love that wet burrito. My wife gave me an early 40th b-day present and is taking me back to CSR in Oct so I'll get to have another one. Direct service to the Boardwalk is gone but only on the return trip. You can still get there by getting on the DtD bus.

hmm, good to know that about the bus service Buzz. Everyone should know that it was not listed on the DtD bus, though. Do you have to ask? When we took the DtD bus, they did not stop there.

By the way Buzz, eat at the Maya Grill when you go in October. It was some of the best food I have ever had at WDW!

Yes, I will have to try the Maya Grill. I've said this 3 times now but I really have to make sure I try.

The bus was mark when we were there. Unless another change occured, we just got on. I did write a letter asking why they stop it.

OK, tell me, exactly how do you eat at the Pepper Market? Is it complicated? We will be there tomorrow for lunch with Me, DH, DD9 and DS6. I know there are some kind of tickets and something about picking the food and then they bring it to you.

Also, tell me about children's choices at Maya Grill. Also, how pricey is it by WDW standards...average or more than average?

Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope we enjoy ours..

The PM is a great place to eat. When you walk in, a host/hostess will seat you, give you menus and hand you tickets for each member in your party. You can either look at the menu (nah!) or get up and stroll around to look at all the offereings. I have had just about every meal there but I love mexican and love that station the best. The wet burrito is a bit spicy, large and delicious. But as you walk around, when you decide what you want, tell the CM, they will punch you card and make your order. If you do not want your kids to have a card, just use one and hand ALL the cards in at the end as you pay. If I forgot to mention, you pay as you exit. If you only want a salad from one station and a baked potato from another, that's fine too. You can mix and match. Don't be afraid to ask if you don't see something and don't take no for an answer. Many of the CM's are Hispanic and may not understand what you are saying so just find someone who does. It works well for us.

Your server will bring your drinks and refills and any condiments you may want. Just ask. That is the key, don't be afraid to ask.

Have fun!

I have a little OT question to ask... I agree with you about the kiddie pool, it's not exactly a pool, just some spouting water! Anyways, what's the CBR kiddie pool like?

When DH & I stayed there & pool hopped there (DVC members), we really liked Pepper Market... it's a bit more upscale of a food court, but the food is pretty good.... I've found using the Connections Vouchers (look on Mousesavers for a description) is the least expensive way to eat at PM....

elemusing, I just pm'd you about CBR! Thanks.

Sonya: Buzz did a great job of explaining it. About the kids choices: They are really good. Standard kid fair - hot dogs, chicken strips, etc. There is a whole little "restaurant" in the PM that is for kids only. Our DS was with a sitter when we ate at Maya Grill so I don't know about the choices for kids there. They do have a breakfast buffet in there that is supposed to be really good, but we didn't try it. It cost me and dh about $60 and we had wine and main course meal. (No dessert.)

Chris 1 Grill: The CBR kiddie pool is a big round circle that is about 1 foot deep so my ds could at least lie down in it and "swim." It also had two little fountains that pour out water beside it.

Honey Pot MAMA: Just PMd you back!
