I am beginning to post my reports on the trip boards but I just returned home yesterday after 7 nights at Disney. Stayed one night at CSR in Ranchos section - beautiful resort but noisy rooms. Then had six night stay in a BW studio. View was of the courtyard (5th floor) and boardwalk looking out toward Epcot. Had a great time at both, very few complaints. Let me know if you have any questions.

I am staying at the BWV for my honeymoon in June. Can you tell me what you loved about BWV? (favorite spots, places to watch illumination fireworks from BWV, etc). I am so excited and I love reading everything everyone has to say.

Hi prec. pixie and congrats on your upcoming wedding. What I loved about Boardwalk - there are so many things. First off the rooms are really nice (we had a studio) and a really great view (room overlooked main courtyard and part of the Boardwalk facing ESPN and Flying Fish). You can hear kids playing in the courtyard having a grand ole time every day and night but if you close your door to the balcony, it's quiet everytime. There are show performers out on the boardwalk everynight to entertain the crowds after Illuminations (banjo player, rope twirlers, piano played on wheels) its just fun and active with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the music, the lake, people watching or join in the fun. Everynight we would see families renting the large surrey bikes and racing around the entire resort area there. At night it was around 60 degrees and mom and I would make hot chocolate and sit on the balcony and watch the families having fun. We were on the 5th floor of our building and we could see the higher fireworks of Illuminations everynight and you could hear the music as well. Luna Park pool is a lot of fun. The slide has bumps built into it which seems to increase your speed going down and a lot of adults were having a great time. At 3:30 there was a pool party that was beginning to be held. A dejay came out and attempted to get everyone in the pool to help him sing songs (ie YMCA and for the most part everyone did join in this round). The quiet pool was exactly that, quiet. You could also rent regular bikes there if you wanted to do that during the day.

I liked the fact that there was a bakery and sweet shop just a short walk away. We ate one day over at YC/BC at Beaches and Creams and I highly recommend splitting a No Way Hose dessert and good hamburgers. The walk or boat rides to Epcot and MGM were a nice luxury to have to begin a morning or end an evening. I didn't meet anyone who didn't greet you with a Hi. I have to admit it was a special luxurious vacation and really made me put reality on the back burner to just relax and have fun. You'll have a great time there, just take it easy, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. P.S. spend a little time at Jellyrolls as well.

We are staying at BWV for the first time in January.. I read that there isnt daily maid service there. Is that true? And is that something you can request?? Reading your post is making me more excited to stay there in Jan~!!

I read that there isnt daily maid service there.

You will only get daily maid service if you paid with cash. If you booked your trip with Vacation club points you will not get daily maid service.

Do you get ANY maid service? We are renting someones points ( off of the rent/trade DVC board here, and have never done it before. How do you get towels? Or do you have to bring your own?? Thanks

Hi Aimee!! Glad to see renting worked out for you!

I have not stayed at BWV, but am in Feb. I was told that you could request maid service for any of your nights but it would cost. Sorry don't know the exact cost but I think I saw somewhere around $40. I believe you get a cleaning on day 4 or 5 if you are staying longer than that. I also understand that you can get fresh towels each day for $6.00 a day. Some DVC members say if you need fresh towels they always have them at the Pool so you could grab a few there or you could wash your own with the washer dryer. NOT!

Sorry I don't know these answers for sure!

Hope everything works out for you.

If you are staying 7 nights or less, "trash & towel" is included on day 4. They take out the trash, replace towels & soaps. If you are staying 8 nights or more, they do a full cleaning on day 4 and a trash & towel on day 8 (check-in counts as day 1). You can get extra sets of towels for $6, get extra trash & towel service for $10 per day requested, full cleaning in a studio is $25 per cleaning, 1 bedroom is $30, 2 bedroom is $40, GV is $60.

Housekeeping is paid for out of DVC members dues. The system works so that those who don't want daily housekeeping don't get hit with higher dues. Those who want it pay for it during their stay. 1 bedrooms and up have a washer & dryer in the room. In a 1 bedroom, we always pop the towels in the washer on the way out in the morning and throw them in the dryer when returning. No big deal. We actually like it that we don't have to worry about housekeeping being in the room.

I was more concerned about the towels than the cleaning part!! We will have a preferred view studio, so no washer/dryer for us! How many towels are in the rooms? If not many, then I will just back an extra duffle bag full of towels & washcloths!!

Cmbar- Yes! The renting went extremely well. In fact, there are now 5 families going down, and we all rented points! Im leaving this afternoon for THIS trip, and Im already so excited about my NEXT one too!! I will write you when I get back and fill you in!! Take care!

Yecats how was the sofa bed at BWV? I'm staying in a BCV studio soon and wondered whether it was comfortable enough for sleeping?

We're leaving tomorrow for the boardwalk (1 b/r). Do we need to bring coffee filter and sugar? Also, is there a dvd player in the room (I know there is a vcr)?
