Hi prec. pixie and congrats on your upcoming wedding. What I loved about Boardwalk - there are so many things. First off the rooms are really nice (we had a studio) and a really great view (room overlooked main courtyard and part of the Boardwalk facing ESPN and Flying Fish). You can hear kids playing in the courtyard having a grand ole time every day and night but if you close your door to the balcony, it's quiet everytime. There are show performers out on the boardwalk everynight to entertain the crowds after Illuminations (banjo player, rope twirlers, piano played on wheels) its just fun and active with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the music, the lake, people watching or join in the fun. Everynight we would see families renting the large surrey bikes and racing around the entire resort area there. At night it was around 60 degrees and mom and I would make hot chocolate and sit on the balcony and watch the families having fun. We were on the 5th floor of our building and we could see the higher fireworks of Illuminations everynight and you could hear the music as well. Luna Park pool is a lot of fun. The slide has bumps built into it which seems to increase your speed going down and a lot of adults were having a great time. At 3:30 there was a pool party that was beginning to be held. A dejay came out and attempted to get everyone in the pool to help him sing songs (ie YMCA and for the most part everyone did join in this round). The quiet pool was exactly that, quiet. You could also rent regular bikes there if you wanted to do that during the day.
I liked the fact that there was a bakery and sweet shop just a short walk away. We ate one day over at YC/BC at Beaches and Creams and I highly recommend splitting a No Way Hose dessert and good hamburgers. The walk or boat rides to Epcot and MGM were a nice luxury to have to begin a morning or end an evening. I didn't meet anyone who didn't greet you with a Hi. I have to admit it was a special luxurious vacation and really made me put reality on the back burner to just relax and have fun. You'll have a great time there, just take it easy, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. P.S. spend a little time at Jellyrolls as well.
