Just Back from CR

Well, I read the good, the bad and the ugly about CR. Let me tell you, we loved it. We had an 8th floor room Magic Kingdom side. We watched the fireworks several nights and it was awesome. The transportation is so convenient. Yes, the rooms are a little dated and older, but who cares. It was clean and we had everything we needed at our finger tips.

When we checked in, we could not get Magic Kingdom view, so we had 11th floor bay side for one night. We were offered a room change the following day for Magic Kingdom view and we decided to move. Bay side has a wonderful view of the lake, but we needed the excitement of seeing the castle first thing every morning and watching it change colors at night.

How was the transportation to the other parks? Did you book a tower room or a garden wing room? Would you be able to see the magic kingdom from the wing areas? Glad you had a good time. We are considering staying at CR for our Feb 2005 trip. Thanks so much.

A couple of questions here.... Did the room have a fridge & was the TV bigger then in the past (I know both are being phased in to CR)...

Also, do you recall if they have a microwave in the food & fun center guests can use?

I can't wait until our visit!! We requested the MK view too... here's hoping for some pixie dust at check-in!

We did book the tower room and requested MK, but didn't get MK at check in. We did move the 2nd day and had 6 night w/MK view.
The transportation to the parks was great - we used the monorail to Epcot and took the bus to MGM, Animal Kingdom and water parks. Never waited over 10 mins for the bus. It was great.

I am not sure if you can see MK from the wings, we didn't have a chance to check out the wings.

Our room did have a fridge and the TV was about 21" or so.

I don't know if the food and fun center had a microwave, but I did use the toaster - it is to the left of the check out.

Yes there is a microwave in the Food and Fun center and also a toaster.

Another nice amenity is the CR marina. We rented watermice from there and had a great time cruising from WL to GF and all points in between.

I'm glad you liked the Contemporary, it's our favorite resort! You can't beat a MK view room.
