We just returned home from a 7 night stay at the CR. This was our 1st stay at this resort so I thought that I would post some impressions.

Room ~ We were in a tower room on the 11th floor with a MK view. I had noted our preferences on our ressie, and also sent a fax. We got exactly what we asked for! The view was incredible - our 2 DDs watched "Wishes" from bed several nights.
The room decor was not quite to my taste - very "loud":earseek: !
It was very spacious though with a fairly large bathroom with 2 sinks.

Pools ~ We used the main pool a couple of times in the evenings. Not too crowded at that time. The pool seemed in need of a good cleaning - a little dirty, although I guess that's to be expected after a busy day. We didn't use the quiet pool.

Transportation ~ We found CR to be convienent in terms of location. We walked from the MK to the hotel a couple of times which was very nice at MK closing time! We also took advantage of the boat to FW and the WL.

Restaurants ~ We had dinner at Chef Mickeys and found it to be wonderful. The food was good, and we enjoyed the characters. The Food and Fun Center was okay for a quick bite but nothing was exceptional. We did not dine at CG or the Con. Steakhouse ( although we have eaten there before and had good experiences)

Overall Impressions ~ While I don't have any real complaints about the CR, it's certainly not my favorite WDW resort. It just doesn't have the same Disney "feel" to me as some of the other resorts. There were 2 conventions during our visit, so the resort didn't really have a family atmosphere. There is a lot of "hustle and bustle" going on which certainly appeals to many, but our family prefers a quiet and peaceful resort. So while I would stay at the CR again it wouldn't be my 1st choice of resorts. We did enjoy our vacation though and can't wait until our next trip!!

We usually stay at CSR which we love. We are planning another trip next summer and plan on staying at CSR 5 nites and then switching to a deluxe for 3 nites when we go to MK and Epcot. I had been looking into Poly but CR rates are lower. We like going the pool in the afternoons when it gets hot. Parks in the mornings and evenings. What do you think?

Well, my favorite is the Poly. I really like the laid-back atmosphere, and the tropical setting. It's an easy walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot, and of course you can take the MK monorail from both the GCH and the TTC. We love the Tahiti longhouse, with its spectacular lagoon view and private beach. The Poly has 2 pools - a quiet pool and a zero-depth entry pool complete with waterslide and volcano!

The CR has its advantages too. There is a walkway that connects to the MK, and of course you board the monorail right in the tower. If you stay in a tower room, almost everything is available under 1 roof (shops, restaurants, front desk, etc.). There are 2 pools (1 w/waterslide) here also, just with no theming.

So, it's really just a matter of preference. Let your family check out pictures and details from both resorts and choose the one that best matches your needs. Hope this helps and have fun planning!:D
