Just back from Coronado Springs

I loved the casitas, especially at night. The water sounds were so relaxing, and the hot tub is one of the largest on disney property.
It is a little bit of a hike, but we have done it, it's not impossible.
There are plenty of bus stops, just get off the stop closer to your room rather than always going to the main building.
The buses weren't always full either since its a conference resort, they aren't always going to the parks.
Pepper market offers a lot of different foods, I found it to be ok. It was convenient to grab something quick in the morning.
Look on the boards for the official CSR thread, he's got lots of beautiful pics.
It's a great resort and the price is usually pretty good!

Where exactly is the hot tub at CS ? Is there more than one ?
TIA

Does anybody know how much they charge to send a box there before we arrive? I looked in the shipping sticky but no luck

I think it's $10 if you ship UPS/FedEx and your package ends up in the Business Center.

If you ship USPS, there's no charge and you pick up at the front desk. (Those flat rate boxes are looking pretty good...)

We just stayed there too, and were put in Ranchos 7B. I was disappointed too, esp. since I asked for Casitas or Cabanas. Our room was so far from El Centro, we didn't go there at all. We were sort of close to the main theme pool and right overlooking a quiet pool (so a water view 'upgrade') but way too far from El Centro. At least the bus stop was sort of close.

We stayed at CSR last time we went...We are so tempted to go back, but really wanted to try POR this time...I'm so fickle! One day it's POR, next day, I think we're doing CSR....So many things we liked about CSR, the pool (my fave), the theming, it was very large but we honestly never felt it. We were however, not too entirely crazy about Pepper Market. Food was ok, and the set up would have been extremely confusing had I not researched everything so much. Pepper Market would not stop us from going back at all, just wasn't my favorite part of CSR!

When I first started to read your post, my heart sank. I have been recommending Ranchos to people..I too had 7b and LOVED it!!! We had a view of the quiet pool and it was so nice to walk to the feature pool or to the bus. I didn't even really mind walking to the main building because it was usually for breakfast and there was a nice chill in the air when we were there in November.

I just returned from a 9 night stay (April 19 - 28) at CSR and LOVED it.

I was in Ranchos 7A. I have to smile when I read where people say how far Ranchos is from El Centro. :) I guess it is a matter of perception, but the 4 - 5 minute walk was nothing. Especially considering what you walk in the parks! My room was about 100 feet (no exaggeration) to a quiet pool, and a 1 - 2 minute walk to the main pool and hot tub.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well maintained - which makes the walk to El Centro seem even shorter! I was near bus stop 3, and as the OP noted, the buses ran often and were never full. I waited one morning 10 minutes for a MK bus because as I was rounding the corner, one was pulling away from the bus stop. That was the longest wait I had for a bus in 10 days! :cool1:

As far as Pepper Market: I ate there twice for breakfast. It was the usual fare along with some Mexican breakfast burritos, etc. I had biscuits and gravy with ham one day, and scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes the other. I was not charged either time for tip! I thought afterward I was mistaken, but both receipts show no tip. I felt a bit bad as both servers were attentive in refills and taking my payment for the check so I did not have to stop at the register. I felt they deserved something.

I highly recommend CSR and will not hesitate to return! :thumbsup2

CSR is our mod of choice now.

Buses - Great. Much better than POR. Never full, rarely crowded and we never had to wait very long for one.

Food -We thought we had more choices at CSR than at POR. Pepper Market wasn't overly busy but we found Riverside Mill to be very busy. The food quality was pretty well the same at both. Staff at both resort food courts weren't particularly friendly.

We really like the theme at CSR, though POR is pretty too.

The staff at CSR were so much friendlier than at POR. More accommodating.

We found the trek to the main building to be the same at bot resorts. It was no big deal... BUT, we were further from the bus stop at POR.

Anyway, CSR is great and we're staying there again this year. :thumbsup2

We were in Ranchos 7B as well when we were at CSR in March and we loved it! As others have said, we were only steps away from the quiet pool and a very short walk to the dig site. I never found El Centro to be a trek, it was a few minute walk at best and an enjoyable one at that. We found the grounds to be so incredibly calm and peaceful. I can honestly say we enjoyed our morning walk to El Centro for breakfast and coffee so much, the calm walk with your loved ones prior to a fun filled day. The little things

We ate at the Pepper Market our very first day, It was ok but nothing spectacular. It definitely wasn't bad though, and we had no problem giving our waitress a small tip as she was very attentive at all times. We grew to really love the croissant breakfast sandwiches at Café Rix so we ate those our other 2 days with some fruit and coffee. We really liked Café Rix! :thumbsup2 Our other meals were always at the parks, so I know nothing of their lunch/dinner food choices. We generally hopped right over to Bus Stop 1 at the front of the resort (which I'm assuming is the busiest) and never waited more than 10 minutes. I just enjoyed my coffee, not a care in the world!

We will be back at CSR for Memorial weekend and we can hardly wait!! I never make room requests as I'm not too particular with things like that. We live in South Florida so water views and all that don't excite us too much :rotfl: I can't imagine being unhappy with our room location, were just happy to be there :woohoo::yay:

Glad you had a great stay. We were there a week ago and also were initially disappointed but ended up really enjoying the Ranchos section (we were in 6A)

CSR is our favorite Mod without a doubt. Love the rooms (especially with the doors that can close of the bathroom... helps give a little privacy). :) We had our first stay @ CSR in 2011 and are heading back in Sept. 2013. We actually requested to be in Ranchos 7B last time (got a lovely corner room right by the quiet pool without even paying for a water view room!) and we have requested Ranchos 7B again. We loved how quiet the resort seemed, and the bus service was excellent. It was great being so close to the main pool/dig site and we didn't mind the walk to El Centro (15 minutes round trip seems minor when walking for miles @ the parks all day).

We didn't feel that CSR is any bigger than any of the other moderates. I suppose size is relative.

Glad you enjoyed your stay!

I agree with everything you have said. We spent more time at the pool then the pepper market so location actually turned out to be great for us.

As far as size goes we didn't mind it, but I can see why people with smaller kids may want something more compact. It really isn't bad though because I would think the most important thing to be close to is the bus stops and with 4 of them your never really far.

One thing I would stress is that all week the buses were fantastic. I saw other resort buses packed, and ours was never more then half full.

I would recommend going here to anyone.

We love CSR...have stayed there 3 times, 8-10 days per trip. I feel as if it has a deluxe-lite feel. One of the best pools on site, best bus service on property, and beautiful new rooms.

Glad you enjoyed your stay! We love csr. We stay in casitas. Love the theming, love the location, the amenities of the fitness center are awesome. We get a king bed and love the room layout-tons of space. We rent a car, but last trip in february we used the buses a lot more than usual and we were really impressed. Best bus service on property along with WL. The only thing we don't love is the food at pepper market. We get it to go and eat outside, but it's just not that great quality food. That's ok with us because there are so many other options on property. We eat breakfast in the room a lot too. That's the one thing we like more about por, the food court.

Thanks everyone for posting such awesome information. After months of research and debate..DH and I finally agreed today that CSR will be our resort of choice for our March 2014 stay.

We plan to do business class for the lounge access options as we will be there for 11 days and plan to enjoy the resort as much as the parks.
We are DLR vets but really looking forward to all CSR has to offer.
This is great info and I'm glad to hear the trip was good for you !
