Just got back last night from our first stay at a 2 B/R BWV Villa. We had a wonderful stay with no significant problems. Things that stood out were:
1. We did not get any Welcome Homes at all but all the cast members at the resort were all wonderful!
2. We had not been to WDW since May of 2001 and were surprised to find out that when you purchase items in the parks they do not delivered to the rooms any more
3. The room had a little wear and tear but nothing major. The balconies were a mess and are in need of that renovation.
4. The pull out bed in the connector had dirty sheets on it with what looked like a urine stain (we called and they were there in 4 minutes to change)
5. Noisy people next door to us at 2 am jumping and banging on the walls but, hey, its Christmas!
6. The lobby looked great and Santa in the lobby did a great job with my youngest son who was scared of Santa up until that point!
7. The gift bags on the doors on Christmas morning were a nice touch and all the cast members were SO NICE on Christmas day.
8. The girl at the concierge desk on our arrival seemed like so knew nothing about the resort and we actually educated her on a couple of items.
7. Had a great Christmas dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe except for a table that was smoking and they had to call security because they refused to stop!
8. Great meals throughout. Ones that stood out were Princesses breakfast and dinner at Restaurant Akershus, Liberty Tree Tavern, Breakfast at Restuarantosaurus. My daughter had recently been diagnosed with Celiac Disease (no Gluten) and at every restaurant the Chef would come to our table and go through the menu as well as prepare non gluten pastas, breads, muffins etc
9. Gary Sinise did a great job telling the Christmas story. We were in the front row and at the end he was actually crying as he was so touched!
10. The highlight of our trip was the 2pm parade on Christmas day and the Spectro Magic Parade. We were very fortunate to arrange some private seating and boy was it great seating!!!!!! (my daughter has Down syndrome as well as ADHD which is why we got it). We were seated on Liberty Bridge with only 8 other people. We had benches to sit on and the parade came right across in front of us. EVERY CHARACTER that was walking came up to my children. At one point we had 6 dwarfs lined up all waiting to shake hands with my children. At another time Tigger, Pooh and Eeyore give my daughter a group hug). They got hugs and kisses from every snowman, dancer, clown, soldier character etc Even Santa spoke directly to my daughter on his mic as he came past.
Both parades were amazing and it made our Christmas!!!
