I am one of the DISers who always reads the posts and thinks about people's opinions and posts-- let this be a lesson to you all-- PLEASE go and see for yourself. If I believed everything I read on these boards I would never try anything new

I had not heard tons of GREAT things about Caribbean Beach Resort-- and it was GREAT!!! The rooms were VERY spacious and clean and the fridge in the room is a fabulous PLUS. Although this resort is very spread out-- it is quaint and cottage like, as opposed to many, many floors of rooms. We requested a QUIET end room on the upper floor because I am very light sleeper-- we got JUST that-- an end room with two walls of windows-- and it WAS quiet--

We always use our own transportation but there are bus stops everywhere and buses run quickly through the resort. We didn't eat there but had a drink at the pool bar-The shops are nice and the beaches scattered throughout the resort are super--

Please just always try something before you believe what every poster writes-- we had a GREAT time and will definitely go back--

Did you have a refrigerator? We are leaving Friday. CBR is my favorite moderate, so glad you liked it too.

It makes a fairly big difference when you can take your own sodas, water, etc and it is a nice sized fridge--- I loved the resort-- and will return--

We were in Trinidad- 3452-- a great room-- ask for an end room-- the two walls with windows makes a huge difference in my opinion

You've got to try things and see if you like them for yourself.

We did the CBR back in October and while I thought the bus transporation was only so-so DH Loved this place (much better than POR).

It really is just a matter of opinion. We love the Contemporary and so many people dislike it. Lots of people LOVE the Wilderness Lodge and I just wasn't that thrilled with it.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed CBR. Could you do me a favor and copy and paste your review into the CBR FAQ II listed below?

We are going in March for 2 nights, then heading to a DVC room and meeting my parents. We visited CB last spring to "scope it out" and have lunch, and it looked so nice. The kids really wanted to try out the pool, so that's where we are heading in about 90 days... What appeals to me is that the CB, as the original moderate, has larger rooms. Did your room have the curtain that separates the bathroom? I get up earlier than my troops and the curtain would sure help.

I have only been to WDW once which was this year and we stayed at CBR. We absolutely adored the place. It's so lovely.

Although CBR isn't my fav resort, it is very pretty and quiet. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thanks for the review. We are staying there for the first time in June and are really looking forward to it.

We were just at CBR this past weekend. We also LOVED it. We were in Trinidad- South building, which just happens to be the last building, but we still had a nice walk over to the main building.

My DD5 now wants me to change our POP Ressies to CBR for her 6th B-day.

We also had a Refrig in the room.

The only problem I had was I got up in the middle of the night and misjudged the bed posts. I am now sporting a nice bruise on my upper thigh where I hit the beautiful bed post.

Haven't stayed there in several years, but we tried it twice and were pleased both times. You're so right about trying things for yourself and forming your own opinion. We're all different. And that's a good thing.

Most people on these boards love WL, in fact I woud venture to say it's the most popular resort on the boards. We, however, didn't like it. But I would never discourage anyone from trying it for themselves. Our favorite is the Poly, and it's the fave of many, but it gets some really bad reports about moldy smells, rude CMs, and noisy rooms. None of which we've experienced.

You never know until you try....

So, glad you enjoyed CBR. We stayed there Sept 2003( our 1st visit to DW) and really enjoyed our stay. :cool1:

I love CBR! It's so convenient to Epcot and MGM and DTD also. We could see the Epcot fireworks from a path near our room the last time we stayed there. It's definitely one of our favorites!

We have reservations there for next December.... I've gone back and forth but I really loved the Bahamas when I was there and want to try this resort. We have only stayed at ASMu and I think the bigger room will be wonderful!

We just got back from staying at CBR. There are many things to like and dislike. The rooms were big and had the privacy curtain. They also had a refidge in the room already. We loved the main pool, yet not the one by our room. (We had waterview in Trinidad North) It was quiet and lovely. The problem we had was everything seemed far away. Maybe it is because DD is 2 and it took us forever to walk anywhere. I would not tell anyone not to stay there. I just do not think it is for us.

That is so true Floridagirl,

I have heard so many mixed reviews of Pop Century and was really nervous about it. I stayed there ten days last August and had the best time ever.

You really have to judge for yourself. I stayed at CBR a few years ago and thought it was great. In fact, I stayed at three different Disney Resorts and loved every one. POFQ, CBR and Pop Century. I think Pop was my favoriate. I reccomended it to a friend and she hated it. I recommended POFQ to my sister and she did not like it. So you really have to judge for yourself. Different Strokes for Different Folks.

My goal is to try every resort at least once.

Glad to hear you had a great time.

we stayed there and thought it was a really nice resort
it is a little to spread out for us/just too big for us
I would stay there again

I wanted to post as I too think the resort gets kindof a bad rap on this list serve-I was panicking until the day we left that I should change to POR. I am very glad we didn't. The kids loved it (5, 2, and 1)
We got there at 9 am and our room was not ready-called back at 11 and it was. We stayed in Martinique 2626-a ground floor with a couryard view (which we loved-sat outside at night and drank wine while the kids slept and the kids played at the table outside with their Disney toys while we packed). The room was spacious and had a fridge as part of the room. There was a curtain across the closet/sink area where the crib was that SAVED us (my one year old does not sleep well in hotels as she can see us-she slept through the night every night with the curtain!)

They loved the lake and the sand and the buckets you get with the kids meals. They spend a lot of time at the pool and liked the cannons that shot water out of them-my oldest are boys and thought that was great! We liked the commissary and felt overall the food was good. There was a nice shop for souveniers and we also ran out of diapers and formula, which they had both to replace. Everyone was very nice and professional.

The buses were not bad-I was most nervous about that-the longest we waited was 20 minutes (as we had just missed it) and we were usually one of the first ones on and off. We sat on the beach at night and watched Epcot fireworks, which was great, as my 2 year old is afraid of them up close.

It was a big resort, but we did not find it overwhelming. We do like to walk and our kids are used to it, but I rarely found myself needing the stoller (my one year old pushed it if we brought it). I think with young children it is definately worth it to pay the extra money for the preferred buildings. We had a great time and I highly recommend this resort to families.

We just got back from CBR this Saturday after spending a week. I liked the resort. The rooms are nice and the food at the food court is better than at some other resorts. We stayed in Aruba. The only complaint I have is when the fireworks go off in Epcot(i think that is where they where from) it shook the windows and door. It was very loud. I thought the windows would break. We went to sleep early a couple of nights and it just about bounced us out of bed. WOW those are loud..... :scared:

Overall I liked the resort.
