We had a lovely time! My husband, my three kids, my mother, and my inlaws had three rooms total (traded the kids around) and really had a nice time.

I don't really know what you all might want to know, but feel free to ask.

I liked the food court. I could feed my kids for 5 bucks a pop each, although they all seemed to just have a small cheese pizza for many meals.

Went to the sit down restaurant there twice. First time had excellent service, second time it was pretty blah. Food was good both times.

Lines at MK, AK, Epcot and MGM were almost nonexistant. Many rides the only "wait" was the time it took to walk through the huge queue lines :).

Loved the Aerosmith coaster at MGM. I'd never rode on a powered launch coaster before. I didn't do the Tower of Terror, but my husband and kids did. My hubbie loved it.

I was disappointed that I didn't get any towels made into fancy animals or anything, but the maid did a lovely job Monday-Friday. The service on Sunday wasn't that great though. (yes, I tipped).

My girls saw the hair wrap booth but didn't want it done. I was kinda disappointed :).

Anyway, ask whatever, I'll try to answer best I can. As this was my first (and likely last for a long time) Disneyworld trip, I don't have anything to compare it to.

Welcome back and happy you had a great time! What village were you in? Room #? Did you use the pools? Did you use the buses? If you did, what did you think about them?

We stayed in Martinique 2225, 26 and 27. We were a healthy walk from the main pool, but not too far. We used the main pool everyday, well my kids did, and the hot tub twice. I was happy enough with both. The pool coulda been a couple of degrees warmer for my sake, but my kids didn't mind it at all.

We also had no car, so all our transportation needs were provided by Disney busing and from the airport and back, Yourride. We were quite happy with Disney busing EXCEPT for the fact that you can't get to the parks from downtown disney unless you take a bus back to your resort. We just BARELY made the Epcot fireworks our last night with passes because an hour and 20 minutes just isn't quite enough time to go catch a bus to resort, then go to resort then wait and wait for epcot bus. We were also exceedingly pleased with yourride transportation to and from the airport.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at CBR. We stayed there on our honeymoon and loved it!

So sorry to hear about the bussing dilemma to Epcot from Downtown Disney. A thought for next time is to take a bus from DD to the Yacht/Beach Club instead. Then you can walk right into Epcot from the International Gateway and you are in prime position for the fireworks. To go to MK, we take the bus to Contemporary.

Welcome back!

Did You Guys eat a shutters?
Im interested if it was any good.
We are staying there this summer.
Thanks

Yes, we ate at Shutters twice, splitting an entree both times. The first time we had their speciality, Jerk Chicken and had Ribs as an appetizer, quite good I thought, and had a great, interesting waitperson. The second time we had Prime Rib with the Scallops as an appetizer and ho-hum service. They were a LOT busier though the second time we went, as a big Dance Team competition thing was starting and a ton of cute, mostly naked young teens had checked in the previous day :).

Just a lil sidenote...

The reason there are no busses to the theme parks from Downtown Disney is because too many people were abusing them. They'd park for free in DTD, and then take the bus to the parks. Also, Hotel Plaza guests were using our busses, instead of the ones that are already provided. It's a shame that the privledge was ruined.

We requested building Martinque 26, how far of a walk to the main pool and food court. On average, how long did you wait for a bus to the different parks?
Thanx

I requested three buildings in this order Martenique 24, then 25...and finally Trinadad 31 ..this would be for a waterview second floor. I have my fingers crossed!!!!! three days to go!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:earsgirl:

Hmm we were in Martinique 22, and the walk was healthy but not obnoxious. I think in Martinique 26 you'll be pretty close I'd guess.

Waiting for busses.. It never seemed we waited for more than 10 minutes. Usually we lucked out and waited under 5. Only once, while of course trying to hurry to Epcot for the 9:00 fireworks, did we end up waiting a whole 20 minutes.

Martinique 26--

we stayed there on our first trip in 2000 and the walk was very short-no more than a couple of mins (with a 3 yo at that time) to the main pool. I would say that 26 is very close to everything!
HTH!

What did the rooms look like?? I have seen 2 very different pictures of the rooms.

Chip and Dale Express

Wouldn't it be possible for them just to check resort id's as you enter the bus??? It would be so much more convenient to have a direct bus to dd.

If you're staying in Martinique, building #26 is the best by far if you want to be close to the main pool and OPR. less than 2 minute walk to either.

Unfortunetly, that's not possible.

In reality, it's been my experience that a park bus would have very low legitimate ridership...

DD and I were there from Jan 23 - 26/03!

It was part of our land trip. We weren't suppose to stay there (Martinique) but when they found out it was DD's Birthday and we stayed in Martinique last year, well you guessed it! The Magic began!

It's the only place to stay. We did not get animals all the time but she did make her a beautiful doll for her Birthday! They also took her Baloo and attached Balloons to him, gave her a Birthday Card signed by her Fav Four; Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet!

It gonna be a tough time topping this one!

DD even loved the food at Shutters!

Scratch
:smooth:

What a wonderful birthday surprise! Your DD must have been thrilled!

We will be celebrating my DD's 6th birthday while we are there. I did let them know when I booked, so I am hoping they will acknowledge it!

It's me, Debbie! I am already planning my next WDW vacation for this summer (checking in on my birthday, June 29) and just booked at CBR. We've never stayed there before, but I did put in a request to be near the main pool and food court. But if anyone has a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

Hope the rest of your trip went well. Glad you made it safely home. Ilene wants to e-mail Tanya. Not getting to have more time with her was Ilene's only disappointment on our trip.
