We are back from a week at BWV. We did online check-in arriving at noon and our room was ready! :thumbsup2 We had put in a request for a refurbished room after seeing all the wonderful pics here, but the desk cm said he didn't know which rooms were or were not done yet. So we didn't get a refurb room, but I didn't care bc the location was great. Pool view on the 2nd floor just a short walk from the lobby. No elevators necessary.:thumbsup2

Just some observations: The room was not cleaned very well. There was dust on the headboard, woodwork and especially the nightstand where the phonebook was. That had the biggest layer of dust ever. And there was hair on the bathroom floor and in the vanity drawer. :eek: Also, we asked for an extra blanket and it didn't come after 1.5 hours and a second request. Finally dh walked down to the front desk to get it, at midnight. Not the disney service I have come to expect. I guess I have high expectation when I "go home", and I hope this is not what is to be in the future.

Having said all that, we loved BWV overall. It is all about location, location location. In fact, we loved it so much we came home and booked another trip there for February 2010.
 
Glad you enjoyed the BWV! The dust wouldn't seem to bad for me. The hair would have bothered me, but not enough to upset my room experience or overall trip. Glad to hear it didn't upset your trip either!

We love BW and have a split stay with AKV scheduled for January. I'm second guessing the split stay. We cannot leave until Monday night (work obligation), and were originally scheduled to come home Sunday night, but DD has an obligation to be at school a day earlier than planned (she's an RA), so we have to come home Saturday afternoon.

We won't be getting into the hotel til midnight, staying that night and the second night in a 2 bedroom at AKV!! Woo Hoo!, Then moving over to BW for the remaining three nights. I hope my family doesn't feel "unsettled" or hurried...we'll see....

Question though....when can we check in online? How far out prior to arrival? I plan to let them know we won't be getting there til around 11:30 - 12 midnight (7:30 pm flight out of NY). Is there anyway I can make sure we won't get the last worst location or room?

I believe you can check in up to 10 days before your arrival. It will pop up on your DVC member page. You can put in a request for location and see what happens. We arrived after 10PM once at SSR and thought we would end up in the Paddock, but we had a great room in the Grandstand literally a few steps from the pool. Good luck!

I am also glad to hear that online check in is working well. We will try it on our next trip.
 
Oh my...sorry you encountered the glitches. We should have "clean upon entering" villas for sure.

We love BWV for lots of reasons, standard view points being most notable for us, and I just extended my March spring break stay there by 1 night and I added DH's name to the reservation because he's agreed to join me for the second half of my 8 day vacation! DGF will most likely be coming for the first half at AKV. I love planning!:banana:

We fell in love with BW years ago. At first we dismissed BWV when it first opened and they PAID to say in the same REQUESTED room on the Inn side for 7 years (STUPID ME).

That said, now DVC/BWV and have had wonderful rooms the last few years. However this last time our room 2nd floor had a dirty towel behind the door when we arrived. We had to waite till after 4 PM to get in to our room which was a real bummer. We camped out in the lobby for 2 hours -- interesting for people watching.

We are hoping rehabs pick up the pace by the time we go back next summer.

I should have called but didn't want to to start out the vacation complaining. Online check-in really worked for us. We arrived with our friends at noon, who didn't do online, and their room wasn't ready until almost 4:00. This was probably just luck, but I was happy it appeared to work better.
