Just Back from BWV!

Thanks for the report.....as a new owner please write a letter to DVC to
tell them about the condition of the resort.....maybe they will move up
the rehab schedule with lots of complaints.

As for the buses.....to pack all those "deluxe" resorts onto 1 bus is
absolutely pathetic....I will only do a split stay over there and do MGM
and Epcot....I did those buses once....I could have ordered a pizza on
the way to DTD.

We just got back from BWV as well....

Night number 1 was in a studio/boardwalk view 5th floor. This room was in MAJOR need of TLC. Lots and lots of wear and tear...

The other 5 nights were in a 1 bedroom standard view 4th floor....this was in much better shape.

The staff was terrific, love the close proximity to Epcot...but this is the 2nd trip where I felt the accommodations were NOT what they should be.

When we were at VWL in December, the room was in much better condition.

I completely agree! What a gorgeous resort - and you can't beat the location. The rooms just need a little updating and it will be fabulous again!

You will love it! Other than the mentioned wear and tear, it's such a great resort.

I'm waiting for my ROFR to come through on BWV right now! I spent 5 nights there in December and just loved it!

You're absolutly right about the rooms and the hallway carpets needing a little rehab, but the location is great. I avoid the busses when at all possible. We walk to Epcot and the Studios and drive our own car to MK so it's not too bad.

I looked and looked and looooked at the different DVC resorts available and ( for me ) the location of this resort just won out.

Thanks for the report! We were in a BW view studio in October and there wasn't a DVD player either. I called and was told that studios did not have them. I hope they put them in. We had to watch our dvds from community hall on our DD's portable dvd player.

Thanks for sharing your pics of your view - we got back 02/03/08 and stayed in room 3061 (studio) overlooking the Greens (above Wyland Gallery). I'm not a DVC owner but rented points and loved our balcony.

Was this a last minute trip? The reason I'm asking is how did you get a boardwalk view (we tried to request upon renting back in October but only were given preferred pool/garden view and upon check-in, we asked if we could be moved to a closer room towards the boardwalk but nothing was available). We weren't complaining, just hoped to get a little better view.

We actually booked this reservation about 2 months in advace (which is somewhat last minute for us). We (finally!) bought into DVC late November, and decided to book this trip around mid-December, instead of banking these points. I actually tried for about a week to get a standard view, as well as trying several other times for two other resorts (although I don't really remember which right now), but nothing was available. MS told me that they had standard view rooms available for the 8th 9th and the 11th, but not the 10th. But then they told us they had a BW view available, so even thought we weren't originally looking for that view, we decided to book it!
