We just got back from 6 days at BWV in a 2BR on the 5th floor under the "O the Wave" part of the sign. Our room was great, the view was fantastic and there was not a lot of noise from the BW area at night. Being up high helped with the noise. But we had a LOOOONG walk to our room. With every trip I was thinking of Richyams and his frequent shots at the long BWV hallways - I guess he was right. We actually used the stairs often (up and down) and that worked out fine. We did all the parks and BB. EE was great although my DD would have a different opinion (she didn't like going backwards). It was crowded but we used FP to help with the waits. One other thing - it is HOT:eek: in Fla in July. I said often, "Who's bright idea was it to go to Fla in July?" (it was mine)!!
We did do something that I probably won't do again, that was go to WCC for dinner one night. WCC is great, but it took us forever to get the WL from BWV. We left at 4:30 to go to DD, got there at 5:30, shopped for 40 minutes and went to WL getting there about 6:45. Going home, we just missed a boat to MK, so we had to wait for the next one and then took the bus to BWV getting home about 9:30. It took about 5 hrs total in travel, dinner and shopping. It was just too much.
I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Glad you had a great trip. Can't wait to go myself!

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at BWV, MikeBW. We are wait-listed for it for January 2008 for a BW view 1-bedroom.

--Is there a particular floor and/or area that you recommend (aside from where you stayed ;)) or that you think should be avoided?

--How was the bus transportation?

--This may be a weird one: Did you get the "full line" of the H2O toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath/shower gel, "solar relief gel", soaps)? I noticed that when we stayed at SSR in May, we only received the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and soaps. No big deal, just curious.

--If you tried them, how were the eateries neat BWV?

--Did you go to the Belle Vue Room (sp?)?

That's it for now. Thanks for offering to answer questions.

We stayed on the 2nd floor BW view over the store once and it was loud, the games were right below us and the bells and whistles from them were annoying. This time I asked for a high floor and it was great.
The busses were OK, it took us over 50 minutes to get to DD one afternoon. Everything else we got to in about 30 minutes. The best part of BWV is you can walk to Epcot and MGM, so no waiting for a bus.
As for the H2O products, I think we received everything, but I'm not sure about the solar relief gel? My DW handles that stuff.
We ate at ESPN Club and Flying Fish. It was our first time at FF and we thought it was excellent. We will go back. We also had a drink in the Belle Vue room, it was our first time there also and it was nice and also air-conditioned (did I mention that it is HOT in Fla in July). Our kids got pizza from the Spoodles window and they liked it. I also had a beer at the Big River and that is always good if you like beer.
Have a good time when you go.

Did you request a high floor when you called MS the first time, or did you wait until you checked in?

Thanks!

Request an upper floor while making your reservations. You are more likely to get your request that way. When checking in, if you find you are not in an upper floor, see if they can change your room. We have always stayed over the boardwalk and love the views from there. Most of the noise from the boardwalk stops about 10:00 so unless you go to bed early, it's not an issue. I think the only undesirable BWview rooms are the studios at the far end next to Jellyrolls. I think that whole section is studios, but not sure. From the balcony configuration it looks that way. I don't like how those balconies are just slapped up on the side of the building. I would never go out on that thing. Also, have read other posts how these rooms are noisier due to Jellyrolls and the ADH. The balconies over the store area are all nice. I love to go out there and enjoy the view any time of day; this is the best part of staying in BWV w/ boardwalk view. Have a great trip.

Thanks a lot, grumpy.uncle and MikeBW! Could I add a request to my existing reservation (and my BWV waitlist) now that I've already made the reservation? I am very new to all of this  Thanks for your patience!

I just returned from BWV two weeks ago.I made two requests on my ressie, First floor and near elevator. They gave me a first floor room at end of one of the longest hallways I have ever seen. I think you should make your first request the one you really want. In hindsight I would have much rather been closer to the elevator.

Thanks for your post. I will be at BWV at the end of Sept. and start of Oct. My room will be a "Preferred View", whatever that means. I imagine its a fairly good view but that's not important to me since I'm not a person who likes to sit by the window and view the goings on. My wife:love: loves to do that but she won't be with me on this trip.

Since I will have an ECV, I am not that concerned with the length of the hallways but I would like to be close to an elevator if possible. About how many of them are on each floor? I will be in a studio; are they found on each floor?

As you can see by my signature, I had a similar experience with EE as your daughter. Going backwards flipped me out and I truly thought I was going to die. In fact, I was hoping that the Yeti would come and rescue me.:rotfl2:

I also plan on going to Whispering Canyon Cafe. However, I made my ADR to coincide with my day at the MK. I plan on taking the launch to WL, maybe spending an hour or two at the Lodge exploring before the rezzie time. Then going back to the MK and taking the bus to BWV. On this day I'm going to leave my ECV in the room and (using my cane) take the bus to the MK. There, I will rent an ECV.

OT: I can see by your signature that we both are citizens of the Red Sox Nation. I just got NESN so I see our heroes. Comcast, for some strange reason, would not bring NESN to our town (Waterbury) tho they did not have any problem giving us the Yankees' station and the Mets :headache: . So when AT&T came around offering their system thru fiberoptics, I jumped at the opportunity.

Again, thanks for the posting and if you have any other advice for me (or others) don't hesitate to offer it.

Chuckcorden,
I'll be at Fenway on Wed and Thu night! We actually tried to get a WCC ressie for a park day that we were going to MK, but couldn't. That is the best way to go there - when you are in the neighborhood. There are 1 bank of 4 elevators at BWV. A preferred view means that you will be looking at a pool. See you in the World Series.
