We just got back from a wonderful first time stay at BWV. Was a girls trip, with just me and my oldest DD22. I had requested a top floor village green area studio. But due to the work on the building, we couldn't get that area....instead we had a top floor pool view. Loved it. We had a Sunday thru Friday stay, catching the last week of F&W. Beginning of the week was pretty quiet, no crowds or lines..but by Thursday..wow, could see the difference. I know NJ schools were off that week, almost everyone we talked to was from there!
But I did have a question about the use of the main pool by non guests....
We were spending the morning at the pool, pretty empty. A mom and her son came over to where we were and asked if anyone was using the lounges a couple away from us. Nope, exchanged pleasantries, help yourself (now did I say the pool area was empty, she could have chosen any lounger, not one that close to us) Anyways....she and her son are in their suits plop down a plastic store bag (from the shops) on the chair and head to the pool. A bit later, dad joins them. Now they are right next to me, a bit difficult not to hear conversations...seems they came to the boardwalk to have some lunch and use "a pool". They started at Swan, then Beach Club, but couldn't find any parking. So mom and son walk over to boardwalk after dad finds a parking spot. Mom and dad are talking and she turns to me to ask, "is it expensive to stay here?"
I looked at her and said, "Are you serious, you are using the pool and aren't a guest of the hotel? If it's allowed, i don't think it should be. Did they give you permission??"
She goes on to tell me they do it every year, and yes, they always ask before they use the pool. They talked to a CM, who told her where the bathrooms were to change into their suits and where to go on the boardwalk for lunch.
At this point, I'm a tad annoyed, not sure what this lady's story is . She gets it, ends the conversation and tells her son to gather up his stuff, to head over to the bigger pool across the lake. Off they go...good luck with that
Now I don't stress on anything when I'm on vacation, time off from work is too precious. But this has me going..as I'm leaving the pool, I stop at the front desk and ask. The CM told me they don't monitor the pool, and yes non guest do use it.
Really??? Now granted, the pool was empty that day..but if it was crowded and I couldn't find a chair because non-guests were using the pool....
Does this go on alot?
