I never really get around to writing trip reports but I just wanted to let everyone know we had a great time at BWV.
We arrived on the 15th after spending 2 nights at Pop Century. Never again will we split our stay between 2 resorts. Although it was nice to get a peek at the new PC, I'm just too spoiled by the spaciousness of the 2-bedrooms to spend any amount of time in a regular resort room. BWV was pure heaven after tripping over suitcases (and each other) at PC. Anyway, checked in around noon, got 2 'welcome homes' from the CM, then went off to Animal Kingdom until our room was ready. Got back around 4:30 and made our way to 1105/1107. Great location - 1st floor, easily accessible to the elevator, doorway to Luna Park and the doorway at the far end of the hall that brings you to the busstop.
The room itself was in great condition. No dirt or mold that I could see. Everything worked fine and although I didn't go through the list the kitchen seemed completely stocked. I noticed there's a DVD/VCR combo in the living room now (not sure if that's old news).
We took the bus to Magic Kingdom a few times during the week. Just as Doc reported we no longer have to stop at the Swan and Dolphin before the Yacht, Beach Club and BW stops. Makes for a quicker ride home. Coming home from Downtown Disney, however, the route is still shared by all 5 resorts. Although we used our rental car for most of the trip the times we did use Disney transportation it was convenient and readily available.
This was our first trip during a popular school vacation week and as we expected the parks were crowded. We managed to ride our favorites with fast passes but I think we'll avoid this time of year for future trips. I lost count how many times I was rammed from behind by strollers, scooters and wheelchairs. And I'm constantly amazed by groups who just stop right in the middle of walkways to have mini-family meetings. Helloooo? At least move off to the side so the rest of us can get by. Of all the parks, in all the lands...Fantasyland was the most crowded. Wall-to-wall people.
No phone calls on checkout morning, although a housekeeper did knock on the door around 9am. She wasn't rushing us out but requested we leave the 'service room please' sign on the knob when we left.
All in all we had a great time. It rained on the 14th but we had beautiful somewhat cool weather the rest of the week. Can't wait to start planning the next trip.
