Wow! we just got back and had a fantastic time. We stayed at the Boardwalk in a 2 bedroom for six nights. The room was in great condition. The staff were very friendly.

We switched to a studio at the Beach Club Villas for the last 2 nights. The room was in good condition but I have to say that I really didn't like the Beach Club Villas as much as Boardwalk. I didn't think the guests were as friendly. The staff was just as nice as they were at the Boardwalk.

We did all the rides and used fastpass for everything. We didn't wait more than 10-12 minutes for any ride. The parks were very crowded but fastpass certainly is the way to go.

Our kids performed at Universal and Disney while we were there. That was very exciting especiallly because I love Disney so much. To see my kids perform was very "magical".

The weather was perfect...hot and sunny every day.

I know this is a brief report but if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Welcome home! May I ask where your room at the BWV was located? Did you enjoy the location? How was the room quality?

Thanks!

Glad to hear that your trip was so nice. What view did you have at BCV?

I hope that your experience with fellow guests at BCV was an exception. We've stayed there a few times now and only on one trip did I feel that way. Hope your next stay is happier.:D

The room(s) that we had at the Boardwalk were 4109 and 4111. It was a standard view overlooking the front entrance. We were between the front entrance and the pond with the fountain. The view was fine. We were near the stairs that led out to the pathway to the buses. Personally, I loved the location for a standard view. The room was in excellent condition.

BCV23...please don't misunderstand, I had a great time while at Beach club villas. I'm not one to complain, the way I look at it I'm on vacation and I'm responsible for my own happiness. It was just an observation that the guests didn't seem as friendly. Believe me, it didn't put a damper on my trip. Our view was an epcot view overlooking spaceship earth. We were able to see Illuminations from the balcony.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip - We are staying at BCV and BWV and will watch to see if the guests are significantly different between the two locations

thanks

It must have been fantastic to see your kids perform. I know I would have been crying buckets if it was me!

We stayed at BW before and loved the atmosphere at the Inn side last time.

Next year, we are planning on trying BCV. I hope that your experience was just a little bit of a bad day on some people's parts rather than the actual friendliness of resort guests at one versus another. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone else felt similarly about the resort.

I wonder if the resort just has a certain "feel" to it that might put people in a more mellow or less upbeat mood. When I look at BCV pictures, I get a more relaxed feeling than BWV. Maybe it's not for everybody. I'd imagine it's not as loud.

Just curious...what type of "performing" did your kids do? We are contemplating taking a choir we direct to WDW next year instead of our usual DL. I would LOVE to hear more of your "WDW performance" experience at Disney.

Thanks,
Beca

Hi Beca,

We actually had 5 groups perform at Universal and Disney. We had a show choir group sing at Universal. The pit band that accompanies them also performed separately there. Also, at Universal our jazz band performed. They performed on one of the stages at CityWalk.

Our orchestra performed at starlight Ray's or Cosmic Ray's cafe in Tomorrowland. That was pretty cool. The stage rose up from the floor. Our concert band and our concert choir performed at dock stage in downtown disney. That was a night. It was a great time to perform because there were a lot of people there at that time so they had a great audience.

That is SO cool. Do you mind answering me a couple more ques?

1) Did you get to pick what stage the kids performed, or did Disney assigned them based on what type of music they were performing?

2) Did your kids also take part in the All American Music Festival? or were they there just to do Disney's Magical Music Days?

Thanks so much!!

Beca

I don't think our music directors had a choice. I think they were told where to play. I know the stage at Downtown disney had different groups every night. Perhaps, it is dependent on how may kids are in the group. We did not participate in the All American music festival just Magical Music Days. Each kid received a Magical Music Days shirt and a pin.

We stayed in the Boardwalk for july 4th in 2002 and 2003.My kids asked to go back in 2003 because they love it better than the Beach Club.We stayed in a regular room at the Beach Club in 2001 and after they stayed in the Boardwalk it was the winner. We stayed in a 2bedroom villa last Dec overlooking the Pond and the pool and they said Boardwalk is better.I quess it's because the boardwalk itself is closer.I still like the Beach Club
