Just wanted to post a mini-report about our visit to BWV (our home resort) in a 2BR with a boardwalk view. We have booked this type of room for the past 3 years now with my folks during this week. We try to avoid Jersey week now and go the week after! That being said, the crowds were a bit heavy the first few days (Monday, Tues) but Wed and Thurs it was fairly light. For example, about 10:00AM, the standby line for Soarin' was 30-45 minutes. An hour later it was an hour. Fastpass was available for approx. 1 hour to 90 minutes after the time you got your pass around that time.

BWV is one of our favorites...we really love the location. We were a bit disappointed with the stay this time. Our 1BR unit was fine (albeit quite a bit of wear and tear). My parent's studio had a lot of issues. There was some (still to be identified?) leak in the room. It caused the carpet to be soaking from the bathroom area, through the closet, all the way to under their bed. We phoned in a trouble ticket right away and had many people over the course of our 4 day stay come and do various things. We're not really sure if the leak itself got fixed, but there were a lot of "bandages" to the problem. They sopped up the excess water with a large vacuum type machine and used some chemicals, as there was a slight odor in the room. It was a little disappointing, but not a showstopper. Most of the work was done while we were at parks and such. We did consider moving, but there were no other 2 bedrooms with a boardwalk view open, plus we had a ton of luggage and a rented crib which would have been a pain to disassemble and assemble again. We were concerned for the next visitors and kept on top of it so that hopefully it will get fixed for the next party.

We found our room was not ready for hours, although it was a Monday, we were hoping for a little lighter load than the big Sunday check-in. We just find BWV to never have an early check-in possibility, so it wasn't a big surprise, but it would have been nice.

We didn't request anything, seeing as we wanted to get our room as soon as we could. I should have requested higher floor as I usually do, because we usually end up on 4th or 5th floor. I had read so many reports of people requesting high floors and never getting it, so I thought why bother. Well, of course, the one time I didn't request it, we were put on the 2nd floor. It was okay, but it was quite loud. We have been in the same area (right above Big River Grille), but 2 or 3 floors up, but being 2 floors lower made a huge impact on noise. Noisy patrons of Big River Grille (or somewhere?) woke several of us up most nights, even at 2am. I have no idea where these people came from, seeing as they close at 11pm I believe, but they were loud! Luckily, they departed about 10-15 minutes later. We did call one evening, but honestly, there's not a lot I felt we could do about the noise. It wasn't horrible, but it was definitely noticeable this trip.

BWV delivered brand new linens to all rooms while we were there. We had a notice in our rooms about it (as people were going to be coming in to deliver and set them up). I spoke to somebody in housekeeping about it and they said they replaced the linens about every 4-5 years. We felt a little lucky to be the first to sleep in the new sheets and use the new towels!

Anyways, that's all I can think of! I hope you find some of this info helpful!

I think I may have stayed in that 1 bedroom. It was in June and it was very noisy late at night. I always request top floor but out of 4 times on the BW side, I think I have been on 2, 3, 4 & 5. So it's really luck of the draw.

Disappointed to hear that they still have not fixed the problem in/near that room. It has been going on for years.

We stayed in that 2 bedroom in April.
It was our 1st trip to our home resort. :cloud9:
DH took pictures of me on the balcony in our new home.

Did the pedastal sink in the 1 bedroom have a really slow drain? Just curious.
We had a small list of things that needed fixed on our way out. It seems like their was a crack in the sheetrock/plaster next to the big french doors in the living room.

I'm just kind of curious on the track record long term.

Sorry you had some "bumps" during your stay. We've only stayed at BWV once we found our room to be noisy too. But it is a lovely fun resort. May your next "Welcome Home" be problem free.:)

I think we stayed in that room in April - I can't believe they have not fixed this problem. Our studio floor was soaked, too. We woke up our first night to a strange gurgling sound in the studio kitchen and the sink stopped up. The next day the floor was soaked. We called maintenance and they fixed the stopped drain but the floor still seemed wet for our entire stay.

We were on the right side of Big River Grille, if you are looking at BRG from the Boardwalk. When did you arrive? We did not have plumbing problems in the studio. I will have to ask my sister about this. I think we were there from the 14th to 19th of April, Whatever Sunday-Thursday, checking out Friday is.

If it was awful, I'm sorry. We were with my sisters who cooked constantly, I had 2 rambunctious nephews staying with us - though they seemed rather calm in the room, and my sister in the smoking studio INSISTED on smoking on our balcony. Disney told her she could.

I think we left the place very tidy however.

Maybe this defeats the purpose for some people, but when we stayed at BWV's, we requested a room with the Canal view. I thought this was a very nice and relaxing view off the balcony for our morning coffee.

As I said, for some this probably defeats the purpose of staying at BWV. But, my feelings were that if we want the action of the boardwalk, we would be down there walking around. I think the boardwalk is great, but when my day is done, I like to go back to a quiet room. Plus, our daughter was 2 1/2 at the time, and we were concerned the noise might keep her up.

Just a thought. We love the hotel, and location AND the boardwalk - just not after we decide our night is over.

For clarification, our room (1BR) was 2017 and the studio with the issues was 2015. That's disappointing to hear that this has been going on for over 6 months seemingly. I didn't stay in the studio part, my parents did, so I am not sure about how the sinks were working. They didn't mention anything like gurgling, so I am not sure. At one point a maintenance worker told us that they discovered the problem and it was that the bath tub was not caulked so they caulked it. We were all pretty skeptical of that explanation. Not sure how that would cause water to go all the way under the bed, who knows...

We have stayed on the boardwalk with a boardwalk view 3x and this was the first time we had an issue with noise. We like the view because we also have DS who is 2.5 y/o and we are often in from the parks by 9pm, so we get to watch fireworks from our room. It's always been a nice way to end the day. I will definitely push for a high floor the next time we end up with a boardwalk view. DS sleeps in the portion of the bathroom that has the jacuzzi tub in it...he has not had issues with noise while sleeping there.
