We were at the BWI for 8 days. Our room# was 3304 and we had a view of the top of Saceship Earth and we could see the "higher" fireworks from Illuminations. If you have any questions about this resort just ask, I'd be happy to answer.

Did you enjoy staying at the BWI? Did you have kids with you? If so, how was it for children?

We are thinking about it for our next trip, and we have never stayed there. Any and all info. would be greatly appreciated!:)

Is this room one of the ones with the larger balcony or the regular one?

Thanks

MJS, yes we had our DD with us who is 4yrs. old and after 3 days my sister who is 10yrs. old joined us along with my mom. The kids loved the pool. My DD didn't go on the slide, but DH and my sister were addicted to it and said it was alot of fun. The pool did get crowded in the middle of the day but nothing unbearable. Everytime we went to the quiet pool on the Inn side we had the pool to ourselves!! During the day the BW is dead, but at night, it comes alive. We all enjoyed the games, face painting, and performers, as well as getting ice cream. I would say this place is great for kids and families. You can get food or a snack late, the pool is awesome, it is not "stuffy", the place was filled with families with kids. I would recommend it for families with children. Like they say Location Location Location!!! I cannot tell you how easy it was to get to Epcot and MGM. Having the other resorts around the lake was a great plus. We rented doats from the YC marina, we ate at B&C, we road surrey bikes around the lake. There is always so much to do!
Josierac Our room did have the larger balcony, we did request this on our ressie and again by fax. It looked as if there were a couple of different sized balconies here. Ours had 2 chairs and a small table. All 5 of us fit, but obviously we all couldn't sit. To the left of us was a small maybe 2 person balcony, to the right of us was the same size. I did see balconies smaller and larger than ours. We did have a view of a really pretty courtyard with benches and flowers and we could see the garden suites. There was a walkway which led th the quiet pool. Probably more info than you wanted but, what the heck!!LOL!!!

Not too much info at all. Thanks for all of that.

How is the construction on the front of the resort? Is it still covered with scaffolding? Did you have a water view room, and if you did, what part of the Boardwalk itself did you face?
Thanks!

Supamacki There was no construction on the front of the resort. On the Boardwalk side where all the restaurants are, there were some areas with scafolding and painting being done. I almost cancelled my ressie here because I was afraid all the construction would bother me. It didn't. It is mostly on the BWV side. The villas around the main pool area were covered in scafolding and looked pretty bad, but this area was in need of painting and once in the pool you don't even notice it. Our room didn't look over the Boardwalk, we could only see a courtyard, the garden suites, and over the building across we saw the top of Spaceship Earth, and a direct view of the Eifel Tower in France. We could hear the music from ToD an Illuminations, as well as seeing the "higher" fireworks. We had a standard room booked with an AP discount. On my ressie I reguested a daybed and larger balcony as well as a view of Epcot or the BW. I also faxed this request in 3 days before and was very happy to have the room and view we got. It was alittle far from the elevators but nothing we would complain about.

A side note... This was the 2nd time we have stayed on a AP rate, last time was at the GF. Both times we have paid for our room in advance. Both times at check-in I was NOT asked to show my AP. Both times I said I had an AP rate and would you like to see my AP and both times they said no. I thought this was strange. Also, I had a ressie for 2 adults and 2 children I was going to have another adult in the room for the last 4 nights of our stay. I told the CM this when I checked in, expecting to pay for the 3rd adult($25 per night) She said you already paid for everything. I told her I couldn't have and then she insisted I did. My total bill fo the room only with AP rate was$1624(that is $232 per night with tax) I know that doesn't include an extra adult. After going back and forth with her, I gave up! Hey, if she doesn't want to charge me, who am I to argue??!!LOL

Desnik, great review of BWI, not too much info at all in my opinion. Was the room you stayed in considered a "standard"?
We stayed in a BW view room this past trip but next trip will probably not splurge. It sounds like some of the standard rooms have nice views too.:)

Yes this was a standard room. I'm glad we didn't spend more to get a water view. We loved our view and spent alot of time on our balcony!
Also I wanted to add that our room was in very good condition and very clean. Our maids did a great job on cleaning. We tipped the maid $3 per day. Keep in mind all they had to do was make the beds and empty the garbage. My DH makes fun of me saying he should tip me, I'm a neat fanatic and have to have everything neat and clean! Also, when all of us were in the room(we were joined by my mom and lil sis the 4th day, 5 of us total) we didn't feel cramped, the room was a great size. I would say it was comparable to a garden view room at the GF. At the AKL, the savanah room looked and felt smaller(we went resort hopping)

We have reservations at BWV in Jan 2003. Does anyone know how long the painting/construction etc will be going on there?? I am hoping that won't be an issue for us in Jan.

Thanks!

When I asked about how long the contruction was going to go on, I was told until 2003. I'm not sure what month. You might want to call the BW front desk when it is closer to your vacation and find out how the construction is going. That's what I did and I'm glad I didn't change my ressies because the construction never really bothered us.
