We were at Buena Vista Suites from March 4-7 and were very pleased with the accomodations and the location. Would be glad to answer any questions.

Did you have an opportunity to use the transfers to the parks from the hotel? If so, how would you rate the service. Thanks

Sorry, we had our own car. But it only took about 10 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom.

No, but just a few minutes by car. Very easy. Disney World is on the same road (535 I think) as Buena Vista Suites.

So it was close to all the parks. We are staying there the last week in May and have never stayed outside Disney properity before. I will have a car also so not too worried about transportation. How much does it cost to park at the Disney parks.
Were the rooms nice and large? Did you eat the free breakfast? Any info would be very helpful.

I think you will be pleased. The bedroom has 2 queen beds - very comfortable. The kitchen has a small refridgerator, a microwave, coffe pot and sink. The bathroom has the toilet and shower behind a door and the sink area separate, making it easy for 2 people to "get ready" at once. Then there is a living room with a convertible couch and TV. It is attractive and very clean. It costs $8 to park at Disney but that is for the whole day, even if you leave and come back or go to another park.

The breakfast was just so-so. It was adequate for free. Hot and cold cereals, steam table like eggs, sausages and pancakes, juice and coffee - that kind of stuff. They will also make over easy eggs to order and toast, but there was only one man doing it while I was there so it took awhile.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back there again. For $88 a night we had plenty of room and a free breakfast and were almost as close to Magic Kingdom as the value resorts on site.

How was the swimming pool and does the restuarant that serves the breakfast have enough tables for everbody? Thanks.

Thanks for your comments on the Buena Vista Suites. We are taking a group of highschool band members there & I was a little nervous, never having been there. Do you think it will be an appropriate hotel for that group?

This is exactly the info I was looking for! We're staying offsite for the first time in YEARS! We're taking Becca's boyfriend and didn't decide to do this until about 10 days ago so no discounts at WDW resorts. Plus I wanted a little more privacy then the 4 of us in one room! We'll only be there to sleep & shower for 3 nights so we decided it won't kill us to stay offsite! Her boyfriend is a German exchange student and has never been to WDW so we're going to be going COMMANDO style for 2 days in the parks!

We didn't use the pool but saw others using it and it looked fine. Yes there are plenty of tables for breakfast. I think a group would be fine. We were sort of a group ourselves - 4 rooms.

Based on the limited info and small pictures on their website, I have tentatively booked a king room for my honeymoon. I'm a bit nervous that the relatively low-cost (thanks to MouseSavers) will mean that this hotel wouldn't be ideal for a honeymoon, although it looks nice enough in their pictures. What do you think?

We have a ton of little questions! Thanks so much for your help!

Are there VCR's or DVD players in the rooms?

Are there game systems in the rooms or available for rent?

Is there a little convenience store on site for bottled water, snacks, that sort of thing?

Is there a gift shop on site with Disney merchandise?

Did you try to check in earlier than 3 pm and how did that go?

Thanks again!

Trivial -

I don't know what you want in a honeymoon, but I personally would pick somewhere a little more special. Buena Vista Suites is basically a nice motel type room with alot of families with little children around. The breakfast area in the morning is kind of a rush as everyone tries to get to the park. The pool area is nothing special - just a place for a swim. It's great for a family wanting a nice spacious place near Disney, but I would want something else for my honeymoon. That's just my opinion.

Live for the magic -

I don't remember if there were DVD or VCR players, but there was definitely some kind of game system - I didn't use it so I'm not sure what it was, maybe one of my kids knows. If so I will write back after I talk to them tonight.

There is a convenience store that sells milk, water, juice, snacks and even some frozen dinners and stuff. They have souvenirs including Disney Tee shirts and other things.

We checked into 4 rooms about 1 PM on a Friday and they were all ready for us.

Hope this helps.

Partyof12 - Thanks very much for your response. My primary barrier is money, although I definitely don't want to stay at a lousy hotel for my honeymoon (I had somewhat loftier plans, but the budget has required some down-sizing). It may be worth noting that we'll be going at the beginning of November, and staying from Sun-Thurs, so I'm expecting the hotel to be fairly calm. Do you know of any particular hotel you personally would choose to stay at for your honeymoon, if you were on a relatively tight budget? I'd be paying $486.14 (all-inclusive) for a 4-night stay at BVS in a King suite... I'm hoping to spend no more than $500, probably $550 max. Sorry for going a bit off-topic here. :)

WE ARE STAYING AT BUENA VISTA SUITES AND ARE GREATFUL FOR ANY ADVICE. WE ARE TAKING OUR 2 1/2 YR OLD DD AND FOR THE PRICE AND SIZE OF THE ROOM THIS HOTEL COMPARED TO DINEY RESORTS THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE ADEQUATE FOR LEAVING THE PARK AT NOONISH FOR NAP/LUNCH AND THEN RE-ENTER THE PARKS FOR THE AFTERNOON AND BE ABLE TO STAY LATER AT NIGHT. pLUS A FREE BREAKFAST CAN'T HURT......
IF ANYONE HAS ANY FOR SUGGESTIONS FOR NEARBY RESTRAUNTS FOR A NICE SUPPER I'D APPRECIATE IT.

I am planning on staying there in 3 weeks for the first time. Check out the reviews at http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...views-Buena_Vista_Suites-Orlando_Florida.html - very helpful and mostly positive.

Trivial- If you just want a hotel room to sleep BVS would be fine. If you want something more festive I would suggest maybe staying on-site at one of the value properties - like the all stars or the pop century. You don't really need the space if it's just the two of you. You would get the disney atmosphere and the pool areas in those value properties are great. I think you can request a king size bed. I don't think it would cost more than BVS.

FYI,
I just had quite the experience with a representative at Buena Vista Suites. Called around 2:00 (MTN) on a Friday, just asking some simple questions about shuttles routes: where they go, if they go directly to DD, if they go to Universal, how late they come back, just wanting some specifics for my vacation, I would rather not be stranded in a place I've never been. Well, apparently I wasn't asking politely, the lady started getting an attitude instead of trying to understand what exactly I was asking. I asked her why she was getting so upset, which made her more upset. She said rudely, "Well you asked me the question three times!" I said, " Well, you know what I'd probably rather not stay here anyway, I wont ask you anymore questions." She said, "Good." and hung up the phone.
Anyway, maybe it was just bad chemistry. But I would reccommend not staying there, less chance of having a similar experince.
I hope that helps.
