We had an awesome time - it was hot and crowded but we still had fun.

Disney Dining Experience was well worth it. The kids completed all the VMK Quests and we got to go on a tour (pint size version of Keys to the Kingdom.)

Let me know if you have any questions.

Welcome back. So good you had such a terrific time. We have rented points at BWV's for the end of october. We are so excited. I have wanted to stay at the BW since it first opened. I'm hoping my DH will love it so much he'll want to buy into DVC. We have a boardwalk view listed on our confirmation papers. Is there any way at all that we might not get the boardwalk view that we want so desparately? My family is afraid they'll put us elsewhere even though we have a BW view booked.

Welcome home. What parks did you frequent?

Did you go on Mission Space or Soarin?

What restaurants did you go to and which ones were your favs?

I just rented points for a BWV 1-bedroom standard view. What would be a good location to request? How was the size of the balcony? What kind of room were you in?

Unless there is some major emergency where rooms are put out of service, you will get your boardwalk view. I haven't heard of anyone who had it booked who did not get it.

Standard view is along the front driveway. There are 3 corner 1 bedrooms near the pond that are extra large - 2123 (smoking), 3123, 4123.

The balconies vary room by room. If you have a dedicated 1 bedroom, it's usually a large balcony that stretches from the living room to the bedroom. If it's a lockoff, sometimes the balconies are separate. Our 1 bedroom last December only had a balcony off the living room, which is the first time out of 7 stays that it happened.

Thanks for the info. I've been trying to figure out what to do about a room request without being overpicky. Maybe I'll just go with non-smoking and a large balcony and see what happens. I'm so excited to be staying here, I'm sure we will like whatever location we get. We are getting such a great deal. It's MUCH cheaper than my original location at CR Tower and only 42% of the rack rate for a 1 bedroom if I rented through CRO.

We had a Boardwalk View. We just loved it. We were in 5029 - right above the Brewery overlooking the games. We kept the shades open all night - nothing like waking up or tossing over in your sleep to see SpaceShip Earth.

Do not worry - if it says Boardwalk View on your confirmation then you will have it. Just a warning - Friday and Saturday late nights can get noisy. Good Luck getting DH to buy - well worth the investment.

We actually hit Magic Kingdom and EPCOT the most. We hit MGM a few times, but the kids were not in the mood for AK - it just gets so hot. They are pumped to go there next year when Everest opens.

DH and DD got to go on Mission Space - not a long wait. Soarin' on the other hand - if you did not get there at 9 am when it opened, then you were in trouble. Two days we go there around 9:30 and 9:45 - it was already a 50 minute wait. We opted for fast passes and walked around the park until it was time. Fast Pass is the way to go. Another suggestion - for Soarin' - try to request row 1. Nothing like experiencing it in row 1. The other rows - you unfortunately loose the magic.

Restaurants

The best one - Le Cellier - just love that place. DH - had Surf and Turf. I had Salmon. Also had the cheese soup. This place never disappoints.

Others on the top were Liberty Tree Tavern (Dinner), Cinderella's Castle (Lunch), Sci-Fi (Lunch), and ESPN.

Ok restaurants - food and service - not that good this time - Rose and Crown and 50's Prime Time.

We had a studio. The balcony you are able to fit two chairs and a table. If you have standard view - just a warning you may get a room that is near the Studio pathway. It is not bad, it is just that the hallways are really long and seem to never end (DD says that). The plus is that you can walk to MGM instead of waiting for the boat. Also, there is a pathway you can use to get to the bus for Magic Kingdom.

Where was your room and how was the noise?

We were in 5029. The noise was not that bad - with exception of Friday and Saturday nights - but that is expected. I loved how the Boardwalk music came on at 8:00 am and was turned off at 11:00 pm.

This is a picture from last year - but our room was the last room in the yellow on the top right of the screen (right next to the red).

Only 6 months left... just one question, is the walk to the room really that far, I have a 2yo with a stroller? Ok, 2 questions, when did the balcony get mostly sun, in the morning or during the afternoon?

Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip.

It depends on where the room is. Our boardwalk view was about 6 doors from the elevators, we were on the corner of the building by the boat dock. It was sunny in the morning.

we usually rent stnd view 1 br.....the only request you should make is to be close to an elevator. standard view is usally over parking area. But who knows you might get luckyand get upgraded. We did every time except the last time(which was this past June) and quite honestly no view is horrible at BW. I love, love love it there :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :goodvibes

and so will you. so spacious, such a beautiful peaceful area. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the Epcot side.

Wow you had a great room. I hope we are as lucky. We have a 2-bdrm and a studio booked separately for DD and DSIL. Thanks for the heads up about the friday and saturday night noise. Knowing my family they'll probably love that. LoL

It is a long walk, but after awhile you get used to it. Now that the kids are older, they do not complain as much because we make it fun. We race to get to the room.

We got the sun in the morning, by 10 am it was pretty much gone from the balcony.

thanks for the info about the sun, I'd like to enjoy the balcony without squinting since I keep losing my sunglasses ( or my little guy seems to wander off with them).

The long walk... well, I think my dh will be troubled by that since we've always been used to value resorts with immediate access to outdoors by 1st floor rooms, oh well, hope the view is worth it from 5 floors up!!!

We are booked in Dec. finalized last night. I was very excited to see such a positive thread about this resort. This will be our first stay here and we were wondering if we would be happy after stays at the BCV. I think so. My question is... How was parking? especially after a day in the parks or coming back later in the evening as we will have a car. :sunny:
