Wanted to write a quick resort report for those of you who are going in the near future! :O) This was our first time at both of these resorts, and we stayed 3 nights at each.

Beach Club: Talk about a sprawling resort! Seemed like it took a long time to get to and from our rooms, but the friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the room and resort grounds made up for that. Rooms were perfect size for our family of four. We ate at Cape May Cafe twice...once for a character breakfast with an ADR, and once as a walk-in for the dinner buffet. YUM!!! Both meals were spectacular!!! The pool was great...our kids thought the ducks swimming in the pool along with us was hilarious! Location was the best thing about this resort...so close to the Boardwalk, water taxi to MGM, and we walked to Epcot several times. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Polynesian: Check-in was a long process. We got a lady who was visibly not enthused about working that day. She could not get our room cards to print out, so she spent a lot of time trying to figure that out. She also did not give us leis. We were given a room on the first floor of Tahiti. After we walked over there, we had two tired kids who both needed naps. We were dismayed to find a horrendous jack-hammer noise constantly coming from 2 doors down from us for the first 45 minutes we were in the room. I opened up our first floor patio doors, and when I pulled the curtain back, a portion of the wall had fallen off by the patio door, and had been patched up with some type of gorilla glue. The bathroom was extremely dark, and I was beginning to regret my resort choice by this time. Finally after an hour and a half of the jack-hammer noise, my hubby called over to the front lobby and politely asked if they could move us to another building at the resort, and if they couldn't, could they please move us to another resort. Luckily they moved us over to Fiji about 45 minutes later. The funny thing was that all cast members acted like they had no clue there were any kind of renovations going on in Tahiti. We then settled into our second floor Fiji room. The resort grounds are pretty, and the monorail is nice...but I don't think it jusitifies the price of this resort. All I could think the whole time we were there was that it reminded me of the 1970's decor and fake wood-grain wall coverings. The hallway carpets in Fiji were absolutely filthy every single day, and when we left one morning there were 3 different pieces of wet receipts that were in the hallway by the elevator/ice machines, and when we got back that evening they were still there. O'hana's was a highlight for us, but Captain Cooks is much too small for this size resort.

We had a wonderful trip, but next time I will split my stay between the Beach Club and the WL. Poly is just not for me! :O)

Hi there, I was just wondering if it was difficult to do two resorts in one trip or worth the trouble. We are going in June 08 and are looking at staying at the Beach Club, but thought about the Wilderness Lodge as well. I really fell in love with the Beach Club last year when we went to Beaches & Cream. The kids are dying to get into Stormalong Bay, as am I. Oh, we have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside 5 times in the past, have you ever stayed here? I was wondering if the room size was bigger or the same?

Everytime we go over to the Poly for dinner, I am reminded of the Brady Bunch episode when the Bradys go to Hawaii!!
The decor looks exactly like the decor in the hotel the Bradys stayed in! It screams 1970s!!!

Yes, we usually stay at Port Orleans Riverside. However, this time we wanted to try something new! I would definitely split my stay again if staying for 5-6 nights or longer. It was a great way to break up the week and it almost felt like our vacation was starting over again! The rooms at the Beach Club were a bit larger than the rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. The rooms at the Poly were quite spacious, but it still didnt' make up for the decor and shoddy housekeeping. I think splitting a stay between the Beach Club and the WL would be devine!

Thank you for the update. It was nice to hear your views on the Beach Club. We are hoping to stay there on our next visit. :)
